So wildlife made its introduction a little while back.

How come swarms of insects/*CENSORED* haven't *buzzed* their way in yet? ;)

Sounds realistic, but it might get annoying after a while. It's important to try and balance realism and entertainment, specially in games like these. Pooping and peeing would also be realistic, but having to do that in game would be a hassle. Not even The Sims, a game ABOUT living, has a pooping AND peeing mechanic, they just do it like birds and poopee when their bladder gets full.

Personally, I'm not even sure if Kenshi should have both hunger AND thirst, since refilling the canteens or whatever might get repetitive after you get a big squad. Also, getting a script to do that for you might end up slowing down the game quite a bit.

Besides, insects are scary, look at this fucker.

Nature sucking is what makes the newest wildlife so amazing. I love getting attacked by wolves and coming out barely alive just to get attacked by another pack due to SmellManager. Sucking at times is what makes a game fun cuz you can overcome that.

... and having to swat your sword at insects sounds hilarious. Heavy weapons get a bonus :P

I'm alright with just hunger, using the Food items or bread that they are likely non-perishable. Thirst, on the other hand... Who's up for taking up a whole barrel of water, anyway, not to mention having only potentially-blinding rum?

Now you had me remembering clips of grabbing a fly without harming it or slicing a fly's wings clean without slicing it in half.

Maybe make it so you are able to toggle it?

I'm all for introducing swarms of flies or whatever to signify which areas/corpses have gotten smelly enough to attract predators, but I also don't think I want to find out how much excrement a Beak-Thing produces in a day.

I think flies should be banned!
A fly produces no honey and can't do a waggle dance. Also, my brother, fly salesman is an idiot and ruined Christmas last year.

Yeah I'd throw it in just to make survival more challenging. You'd want the AI handling it mostly automatically though. Like let you men rest a second and they grab stuff all on their own from where ever nearby they can find it. You'd probably have a mess hall in your base and would have a guy hauling provisions for the squad (they'd auto loot him as needed) while traveling.

Alcohol is an option to satisfy both the need for food and water (although not as well in either case). Drinking also means your men are drunk and have their fighting skills reduced. It could be comical. But it would be a easy compromise on the need to haul too many supplies.

You'd probably have a provision setting. You could give your men the minimum needed to survive, or allow them more. Well fed and hydrated men heal faster, gain strength faster, work harder, etc.

Now if they implement such things, the price of loot should go up to balance for the higher need for money prior to forming your own base.
