Its sometimes kinda hard without looking at map to check which direction we are facing. Compas (as build in or buyable) would allow to easly follow our destination without having to check map constantly.
Sorry for my bad english.

I guess that wouldn't be a bad addition, but not really one that's really needed or worth the developers time and money over other more pressuring features.

considering it takes 1 second to open the map and see your direction
its kinda a moot point in adding it.

you get used to knowing where everything is eventually.
most times i open the map now is to set way-points for my people to go to.

Right click on a location on the map -> your selected characters will autopath their way there.

Yesterday i wanted to go from Stoat to The Hub, so i right-cliced The Hub and went for diner. 20 minuts later hmm... my char was still exploring Bast region.
Pathfinding isnt perfect, sometimes char takes strange patch thats why i was thinking about compas for easier manual navigation.

Being an old boy scout a compass has long been on my list. Going waaaaaay back I think it was one of the first things I ever asked for.
I love the feel of the map and orientating myself to the direction that I want to go, but it would be even better if I could see a compass as I was moving so while I scan all directions looking for dangers I can reorient myself without opening the map again. Or I can get my bearings from the map and just follow my compass like in RL. It would definitely be a polishing item for me.

Oh, those are waypoints lol? I use those all the time. I thought something along the lines of setting a certain route as in, first go there, then there and then there all in one go. Like multiple waypoints.

Also just a marker that says "N" with a floating Arrow under that would change depending on the direction you turn the camera would be kinda neat. It's not exactly a compass but it gets the job done. Also there should be a hotkey to make it show up or not just as a quick reference point.
...and so my legacy continues...
