I love the rain. The sound the smell. Like blood falling from the sky. or is that just my video card?
I would love it even more if it would water my crops!
Just thinking it would be nice if when the rain fell it would refill you water level on your crops.
Also if there were a building for catching the rain to store into your water tanks. Or if the tanks themselves would serve to catch the water.
This would be a random but helpful boon to outposts where water is scarce.

I don't think rain would appear this often in Kenshi. Don't forget it's dryland.

It obviously isn't anymore

Have you been at Okran's Pride? Or further west, just south of Fog Islands? It's a damn forest blooming out there!
I double the request btw. Rain watering crops would be nice addition, however i don't think quite possible with the way it works now. Maybe it could boost growth rate a little bit to immitate watering though...

You must be playing the old map. The new one has several major rivers, and it rains quite often in the area between the vain and the borderlands.
And it could just halt the use of water or even reverse it on the farm. Just like charging batteries. Stop when the water level is full.

I'm mostly hanging around in the eastern part of the map. At all the most vegitation is near the sea for some reason.
I don't want to say that I don't like the idea, I would love rain too, but it's fact that it's more subtropical around the desert.

Roofing isn't a very advanced profession in Kenshi....

I was just thinking that the rain could also be a threat.
Like in some areas the rain would be acid rain. You would need to get into shelter to prevent minor continuous damage.

Yeah, i think that's planned. I'd also like to see rain as particles, not camera effect. Maybe someone could mod it...

Take it a step further and someone could make water into a flowing liquid rather than a texture. So when it rains its actually adding liquid to the landscape which floods lowlands and flows into rivers and back out to sea. That'd be a project though as I've only seen a few games that had the engines for water flow.

quite an overkill for RTS\RPG, but yes, i hope eventually devs worldwide will switch from pointless texture resolution race to realistic phisics such as actual liquid particles and soft ground

That's an interesting idea! And I guess it could be made, if you look at the trello:
https://trello.com/c/BRniLSEU/241-newland-shift
You can see "drought" for example. So I'm guessing it's already planned for rain to be more than a esthetic thing
