if you played stronghold crusader this would make sense, you can throw the hook onto a wall and hope it gets caught on something then you can scale it and get into or out of a city controlled by bandits and what naught P.S. can't wait for bows!

There is a climbing ability, but it isn't implemented yet.

gatling harpon gun

but i would pick a bowman over a turret any day, the reloading speed will always beat the slow turret (if the turretman misses.... and the bowman shoots straight)

grappling hooks would be an awesome add-on during night attacks, think of your 50 best men doing a forlorn hope (a group of people that will sacrifice themselves in a hopeless attempt to take the walls in order to get fame and glory, or the promotion that will give you a promotion) against 100 unsespecting defenders
