One feature that I found useful in the Fallout and Fallout 2 games was the 'go to' map feature.

In Fallout once you've visited a map feature, it would appear on the map's side as a scroll down menu. You could still travel the map by point-and-click, just like in Kenshi but clicking the side menu would allow you to travel to that destination (overland not fast travel) without managing your party.

With the vast number of land features in Kenshi, adding the all would be ridiculous but instead only named towns and special named features (not 5 Hive villages or Holy farms). Placing a way-point at the gate entrances would act as our destination

In addition, we could also set-up removable map markers/way-points if needed

These map markers on the side scroll could be 'Shift Right Clicked' as an assigned task to make sure they don't stop too often along the way.

This has been requested multiple times, but I don't think it is happening. Not because it COULDN'T be added, but because it would fundamentally change how Kenshi plays rather than being a mere convenience thing.

Consider this. Logistics. You need to transport things(as do others). But transporting things is dangerous. You have issues of wildlife, environmental dangers, bandits especially. You may need to transport through territory held by your enemies. You could get lost and find yourself wondering into a beak thing nest.

Those are real issues... unless you can use a "waypoint." Also that means you an INSTANTLY get that food you bought to your starving base. The fact that your character is massively overloaded and thus can't really move isn't an issue anymore because they teleport now. I could probably think of many other examples like this.

So what you DO have that doesn't disrupt Kenshi's entire system is the speed up buttons. IIRC you can tell also your people to run to a location on the map itself(You can choose to watch their journey or not). But waypoints etc can't happen without throwing the balance of the game off.

I believe I was misunderstood.
This wasn't a 'fast-travel' feature, it was a 'go-to' marker for major landmarks. You still would have to travel overland, just you could set it as a task... they would continue to travel to those markers even if they stopped for combat or break path and stand aimless.
Yes, I can right click the map and travel just the same but if I dont micro-manage, they'll stop aimless for what ever reason. This way, the marker can act as a task and hopefully they'll continue along.
