Here is a suggestion with many uses.
I think it would be a good idea to add a little icon, a little red dot, a different-colored outline--basically, something to character portraits to mark them as Aimless.
Sure, it's easy to press each number key and look at their status quickly, but maybe you're busy maneuvering two or three characters and would like to know when another has reached their destination several kilometres away.
It would also be useful in determining when you need to add another job to their job queue.
Plenty of uses!
Also, and this may be slightly more difficult: it might be nice to add a UI element that provides the same information to the tabs for your different squads on the main game screen. That way, you could know if someone is aimless in another tab.
Let me know what you think.
Adding it to the game counts as letting me know what you think. <3
An unobstrusive graphical element to indicate Aimless status

On the trello page, there's "dialog inventory full warning for jobs" thing, assigned for Chris in the "High priority" card. I'm not sure what that is, but sounds like it may be just what you're suggesting.
If not, well, your idea is alright. That would be a nice commodity, if i may say so.

I think something that might work would be like how the treat characters who are attacking/being attacked/starving, how the portrait changes background, or the tab if you're focused on a different squad at the moment. I'd think that something like green or blue would be pretty intuitive since they're pretty opposite to the 'danger' colors used currently.
One potential problem I could see it that sometimes it seems like characters will temporarily go 'Aimless' between jobs, as if they're thinking what to do next, like between doing a bunch of different medic jobs on their comrades, and some people might get annoyed by the indicator going off and on during those times, so if that's the route that gets taken maybe give a small delay to when the indicator turns on, since 'Aimless' isn't as urgent as say, being eaten alive.

Yeah, i agree. The color should only show after a certain period of time. Like being aimless for 30 seconds or a minute or two. I do think it should be incorporated in the UI though.rebelscum wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:02 amI think something that might work would be like how the treat characters who are attacking/being attacked/starving, how the portrait changes background, or the tab if you're focused on a different squad at the moment. ...and so my legacy continues...
