So right now, acorn the bull, an alleged herbavore, is eating rancid beak thing meat. This does not make any sense.
I propose a new crop structure: the feed lot/pasture. This will be a field that you put water on, and that is it. When it is ready to be harvested, the animals will go there and eat.
You can even add it to the wandering nomads, were they give you money to graze on your land, or use it as bait for the dangerous wild goats.

Good point, would be nice to see sometimes.
Although, you don't have to feed animals with rancid meat, they accept some regular food as well. It was foodcubes for sure, maybe bread and cooked veggies, and that's all my rations, so no idea about the other meals.

I think that they will eat anything that is edible. They just start with foul meat to make the auto feeding of them easier. So they will eat that first instead of the people food. (I like that)
I would agree as was posted in a previous request that bulls shouldn't eat meat.
I don't think they need a new crop, but they should have herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores. one would eat any crop types wheatstraw, greenfruit ect. Carnivores would eat anything with meat. And omnivores would eat anything. I'm thinking Garu, Goats, raptors, Gorrillos, for that one.
They could have a similar option like the foul meat for the Herbivores, cattle feed, that can be purchased or made in a mill from what ever crops you want to dump into it. Then add it to the animal feeder. Dogs would eat the meat out of the feeder and bulls would eat the grains or feed.

The pasture sounds like a good idea. It could be based on the fertility of the terrain and produce some kind edible that is specifically for herbivorous animals. Maybe the animal can have a stat that is related to farming where they dig up their own food as they sit around rooting through the field.
It would also be HILARIOUS if your bulls started eating your wheatstraw fields. I mean hilarious in away that is funny to talk about up until they destroy an entire large field and then everybody rejoices because, steaks for everyone!
It would make a good argument for having to use fences though.

I would prefer for a pasture land to function a little more like a farm than like a whole different thing. Maybe it's growing hay, which is a food item that can only be eaten by animals (preferably only by herbivores). I really like the idea that they can access the pasture on their own, and eat out of its inventory. But, I also want to be able to harvest the hay just like a farm so we can bale it up and have a more concentrated and portable animal fodder for long trips.
Basically, new item: Hay. Grown in a hay farm. Not edible by anything but herbivores. Animals can access the hay farm's inventory directly to eat the hay, but people have to work the farm to harvest the hay. A farmer at a new item: Hay Rack can add 5 hay to make a bale that has 5 times the nutrition.
Honestly though, it seems to lack imagination for it to be hay. Given all the wild plants growing everywhere, it would be nice if it were something crazy-sounding. I feel the same way about cactus.
Edit: Dang, I mean, for that matter why aren't riceweed, razorwheat, cactus, and greenfruit all food for herbivores but not for anyone else? One edit to the game and you have animal fodder that has a lot lower impact on your foodstocks.

another option is to have a "feed mill" that converts unused plants into feed, and meat into kibble.
This would make the animal feeder less buggy, as people will not want to eat the animal food anymore because only animal food will go to the feeder.
Maybe we can have dog bowls and collars too? and little doggy armor?

Is there any way to extend the functionality of the farming processors to create another (bi)product? Maybe the grain silo can output flour and additionally create a pile of wheat chaff that can be fed to animals in the feeder?
On the subject of non-animal units chowing out of the feeders:
Could there be a way to prioritize the feeder for certain units?
Is a way to deny access of an animal feeder to non-animals? I know that you can grant or deny access to animals in buildings so can you deny non-animal units to a functional resource?
