Extortion?

Was just watching gameplay video of a mobster RTS and was making me think "Wouldn't it be cool if extortion was possible in Kenshi?". Basically, just like we have the options to: Attack, Loot, Kidnap, KO, etc. Perhaps we could also have the option to Extort? It could be a skill and the higher it is, the higher chance you have of getting Cats from the NPC. Otherwise they either runaway or attack you. Is this possible? Thoughts?

This would have to be broached by a modder. The developers have laid out a general game plan for the release version.

Right now, i'm thinking, it can only be acheived through dialogues, which again, has to be modded. I've seen couple of those, where you threat people to give you moneh, in a standart issue though, but that's it for now.
Personally, i'm against the possibility of playing as a complete jerk. After all, you already have an option to kill every significant person on the map, and kinda sink the world into chaos, so what else could evildoer possibly crave for?

Good point. Yea, I was just thinking if I wanted to Role-play a criminal family, it would be neat to be able to collect "protection money" if ya know what I'm sayin'?

I like the idea of having as many conversational options as possible. Being able to threaten someone into an outcome that is positive for you has lots of interesting applications.
The only thing is that you have to balance it with appropriate consequences.
If you are going to extort money from shops then you should lose reputation with that faction and have a bounty placed on your head. Pretty soon you would have the all the guards in the town hunting for you.
Of course if you could bribe them to look the other way that would also be an interesting twist.
