Could you please add in hats/helmets for Hive Soldier Drones? They are by far the weakest race in the game and cannot live in some places due to not being able to wear a mask. Late game they can still be taken down by a group of Fogmen if they get hit in the head a couple of times and this makes Worker Drones better for combat then them mid-late game. The lack of helm slot and not being a robot is just too much in this game. Also don`t understand why a race so crafty it can make robotic limbs would let it`s fighting force and 1/2 of their men/women as a whole go into battle without protection.to their sizeable head. It also destroys the lore since Soldiers are worse at fighting late game then Workers/Princes as the Soldier are supposed to keep them in check and protect Princes, But what ends up happening in most cases as with Skeletons they get their head knocked off.
And then not being a skeleton they an`t wear a fog mask so they are stuck to acid/arid places. And Also have to eat. So it`s all the negatives of a Skeleton with none of the reasoning or positives of being a robot. Skeletons most likely think they do not need helmets, but soldier drones follow the orders of hive princes that would not let them operate like that.

Thank you.

PS: This was taken from a Reddit post.
So let's calculate the EHP of a Shek in average conditions. He will be wearing full masterwork grade samurai gear plus blackened chainmail. Let's walk through the head calculations.
Samurai helmets have 100% head coverage (100% chance to apply armor protections from damage) and no other equipped armor protects the head. IF ARMOR APPLIES 76% of cut damage will be prevented with 40% of the prevented damage becoming stun, and 57% of blunt damage will also be denied.
I personally weight cut damage to be 4 times the concern of blunt (by availability and threat) - insert your own numbers here if desired. So after weighting, our armor prevents 47.88% damage to the head. Shek have 125 limb health which brings us to a head EHP of 480 including toughness. That is, it would require 480 damage to the head (on average) to get enough through armor to cause KO. Numbers below are from a calculator I made that weights damage types equally. Find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1084821628

Limb: EHP; hit chance
Head: 513; 12.5%
Chest: 1203; 21.875%
Stomach: 1205; 21.875%
Arms: 822; 12.5%, 6.25%
Legs: 1002; 12.5%

Ignoring blood loss, only damage to vitals can put our Shek warrior down. Let's extrapolate the average incoming damage required to KO:
Taking damage consistent with the hit ratios above, our warrior would go down via head damage after 4,104 incoming damage. Chest and stomach damage clocks in at a staggering 5,500.

Humans can manage the same protections at only 100 limb health for an expected KO at 3,283 (head).
Skeletons of the initial type have 2,900 (head), new variants having 3,200 (head).
Hive worker drones and princes would go down at 1,791 (chest), soldiers at 2,388 (chest).
But that's the average, largely influenced by hit chances as you can see with hive soldiers. They have an expected 2,800 damage to KO via an unprotected head!

Next, we'll look at worst case scenario. Let's assume you get unlucky and every hit strikes where you're weakest. See the pattern?
Shek: 513 (head)
Human, hive worker: 410 (head)
Skeleton, hive soldier: 400 (head)
Hive prince: 308 (head)

Have you checked any mods that can cover those... unpleasantness? There are at least two mods which rebalance this race (more dodgy than strong), also try this mod for helmets and see if it doesn't crash.

Also humanoid helmets for Hivers can't fit due to their head shapes.

They could make their own hiver helmets. Part of my point was that they are a crafty race and should be able to make their own helmets if they can make themselves new arms. And that mod still does not fix the fact that Hive soldier Drones can`t visit some biomes.

I believe the lack of helmets is why soldier drones have twice the HP to their heads as humans. Isn't that enough?

As insects, I'd imagine a helmet may affect things like antennae.

No it is not, there is a multiplier and even having 0% resistance make you take a good bit less DMG, also the other hivers can wear headgear, and if they were to make specific headgear for the soldier drones that could be avoided.

I just can`t understand why they would not make helmets if they are already making shirts. Especially for their fighting force.

What specifically did you find so easy to dismiss about my suggestion that it's to do with that they are insects and likely possess some equivalent of antennae which a helmet could interfere with?

As far as multiples go, 200 is a multiple of 2 over what a helmet-capable human has for HP. I don't know if you're making your case, or at least that you seem to be ignoring any case made to the contrary. I imagine a helmet the size of a Soldier Drone's head would be quite heavy, as well, so it would probably upset the user's balance at least to some degree.

I addressed you without any dismissal, the thing on the back of all the hiver`s head are their antennae. You can change the length of it, and what i said is that the other hivers wear helmets. So i answered you. And yes a helmet of that size would be heavy, this could be a point of interest witch would make up for the 200 head hp. They would not need to be too heavy/thick however, as in meany cases they would most likely be made from Beak Thing hide.

But you also seem to be ignoring a large part of my statement witch is the fact that even more so then helmets is a from of fog mask they can wear so having one in your party would at least not limit here you can be on the map.

You make a good point about some of the various types of headwear which should be wearable. Fog masks should be wearable, as well as things like faceplates which shouldn't hinder the antennae at all.

I haven't so far seen any hivers wearing real headwear other than turbans and headbands, but I suppose I could be unaware since I rarely play hivers. I find them weak and hard to get into character-wise. I do enjoy playing the Soldiers, though.

Well, the other 2 hive races can wear EVERYTHING head wise. But see what should be going on here is the hivers making hats just for their soldiers. I mean they already make their own shirts and robotic arms. "Humans can manage the same protections at only 100 limb health for an expected KO at 3,283 (head)." Hive soldier drones only get 2,800 end game with no protections, 4,104 for Shek with a Masterwork Samurai helmet on.
