Can we have a AI loot table list? Like what the AI will loot ?
I think that, a compare table if items are better grade, the AI would loot them, than their current items.
It is kind of silly the bandits only care about food, and won't loot clothing and other items from other factions or player faction.

You would think they would want to steal: shoes, medkits, back packs, and other things. If i recall correctly they did steal med kits in the past, i do not know why that was removed.b3nt0b0x wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 6:07 amCan we have a AI loot table list? Like what the AI will loot ?

Haven't been with this gem for long. My guess is people need that medkit to heal if they are playing with the death chance setting higher than 1. If it was looted then the whole squad would most likely bleed out before getting back to the town.philthymcnasty wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 9:53 amIf i recall correctly they did steal med kits in the past, i do not know why that was removed.
I believe the problem with the looting AI is that the other game mechanics don't support it: all characters have free access 8*10 inventory which can literally put in most equipped stuff; limited NPC generation made them can only have varied quality rather than diverse weapon type; fixed recruitment fee and 1/1/1 style status made losing a guy boring (it is boring not because losing a guy, but replacing it means repetitive training is not fun at all and most recruits you get don't have their own character, and this should be the motivation behind that some players use "recruit everyone" or "recruitable prisoner" in the first place).
The only game I know with a proper NPC looting AI is NEO: Scavenger. That game has an immersive inventory system which you don't get any extra function orientated inventory but only hands, pockets, belts, bags, and carriages, also the inventory space that free hands, pockets, etc provides is reasonable as well, not something like oh a big backpack has like 999*999 of space, so when an NPC loots you, they loot but also left untouched or drop.
Kenshi world does need a proper looting AI since it doesn't have item durability and some bandits like the swamp ninjas do yell all the time about "loot everything they have" or something like "finally we can replace these rag", but I'm afraid such gorgeous feature could only receive its luck in Kenshi 3.

So there is somewhat of a looting ai when you get arrested. I have seen the holy sentinels with the short weapons equipped if they did not have one, after they arrested people.
So the with arresting looting AI does exist, and the cops do sell weapons that they take from you. If i am understanding how this mechanic works, then it appears that they just need storage space.
Maybe give each bandit squad a porter bandit, who has a backpack and takes loot that way, then carries that loot to a special storage at a camp? Maybe add a special loot container called "swag pile" and have them put inventory in that? when the porter runs out of space he says "we gotz a good haul!!" and they run off to the camp?
One added benefit is if we can get this behavior down, we could modify that for the item furnace. Replace "swag pile" with "burn pile", and they would loot all the crap goods off of bodies, take the bodies to the corpse furnace, and another person would have a job running the burn pile items to the furnace. That would solve a lot of problems: removing micro management from the item furnace, the giant stack of shoes outside the main gates from the dismembered limbs and slaver hauls.
