Clothing, Armor, and Weapon durability [Kenshi 2]

I thought of this playing kenshi and I believe it would add more depth and ways to have to spend cats in order to get by. My suggestion is this, as you get beat up the durability of your apparel drops and becomes less effective until at zero durability it essentially becomes scraps and rags. Getting hit in a spot that your gear covers would lower durability for that particular area, and with the percentage of how much area that piece of gear covers would be the chance it got damaged.
I also noticed it was very easy to just save up huge amounts of cats and sit on em until you went to the skeleton smiths. So most towns would have a tailor and smith/armorer, and maybe a cobbler? You could add a option to existing benches, and with the correct materials, repair your own gear. This would force you to spend cats regularly other than on food, which in my opinion sounds a lot more fun and makes you think about conserving cats a bit more.
(Remember all my suggestions are demands)
