How about a little Zen time? Even if it is only a visual element that shows the player/faction-member meditating, it would be add a bit into the environment. Maybe if there is a hunger, sleep (fatigue), needs to take a dump but no restroom in sight, thirst or maybe even a simple pain system, it could aid as temporary "mental" relief to help focus the player and whichever of his followers to continue. You could also get better at it over time possibly.

That's a rather good point you make. Meditation can have it's results varied and can increase concentration, that in turn can increase efficiency in research, combat and jobs and make you and your faction look more religious and pious, and set a schedule for meditation for them even more. I actually wold like that adition in the game, instead of just saying stuff. Christians pray in their churches, Bushido/Buda members meditate with their legs crossed and so on in the real world. There should be more ways to meditate in Kenshi.

Interesting, it would be an interesting addition, but it would require some planning, would it be a temporary bonus, or a continuous passive bonus?
Nevertheless, a decent idea indeed.

I was thinking of it being only a temporary boost. It would make you become more
dedicated to meditating. I don't think it would be as fun or engaging if it had some permanent effect after meditating.

Wise man say "Man who fart in church, sit in own pew."
I agree that there might possibly be one or two other ways to meditate, but not too many. I was just thinking of keeping it simple as much as possible. It would be cool to come across some sand/forest/snow/high-plains/swamp ninjas doing some Shinto meditation or something... right before you lead your small 20-30 something squad in for the slaughter.

Meditating before a battle... that actually is probably one of the most badass... or at least interesting... ideas I've seen on this forum. "Normally words can cut sharper than the sword... But not today." /20 man charge into enemy army
I think it would be cool if you established a state religion (which could be implemented later, right now it could just be /meditate, and you're good for 10 minutes) but maybe with a common state religion it would have an increased effect that maybe lasts longer. I dunno.

+1 for meditation, either for buffing, healing.. or both.
You could even make meditation a skillset of it's own, with different types of meditation (mantras) for different things. Offensive/defensive boosts, weapon skill boosts, staunch blood loss, improve regen rate, etc.

Really like this idea, my dude/faction would be kinda Buddhist Monk style characters if possible. That would be a good faction feature too I guess, once martial arts are implemented.
Have all of your guys in formation in a building sat cross legged and all meditating, would be sweet :')

Some kind of meditation or praying would be cool. But it doesn't have to give you any bonuses or skill or xp boost. It can bee only like emotions in some games. (Usually only multiplayer)
It is only too cool to do some spiritual tai chi when resting on top of the mountain or meditate with your small elite squad just before they attack massive enemy fortress.

Actually Santaissick, meditation can calm people down and increase concentration, as seen with budha disciples. It also raises discipline in people and it can make them more calm in even situations where you have to talk, increasing your bluffing (please substitue the name with either persuasion or charisma) skill. So therefor, meditation has more good things than thoose.

I know it can be useful in real life just like that. It's just that I'm not that much into getting a skill boost in game.
There's tiny bit of perfectionist in me and I know that if it gives even little bit of skill boost it makes me to do it before like every battle and whenever I can and that would be massive work and it would get boring over time.
If it's only "emotion" like thing (like waving or ROFL or sleep in MMORPGS) then there's no need to do it. It is just something that I'd like to do for fun whenever I want.

the suggested morale system could also have a stress component to it, perhaps meditation could be used to keep that down if needed.

It would be cool to see some sort of meditation system, staying true to the theme of the game. It would be nice to see it give you a boost, only if it's not something you can do all the time, or to get a better boost would mean you have to see a spiritual master who can instruct you in better ways to meditate after you level up the meditation skill up a bit. And when you reach the max level, you get a permanent boost because you reached "Nirvana" hehe

Just make sure it's not like "The You Testament" or "The Making of a Prophet", the "meditation" in thoose two was ridiculous.

I would suggest that meditation would be very useful. I would add that the following additions would be included with such a system.
Meditation(Prayer): Would be used to lower stress, xp gains for discipline while removing stress.
- Discipline(Focus): This would determine the likelihood of "Panic" which would lead to fleeing combat or raid, attacking nearest person.
- Morale(Loyalty): Would determine the overall chance of a person leaving, fleeing, deserting you.
- Stress(Fatigue): current level of stress would determine how effective a person is with their Labor/crafting skills including discipline. The range 100 to -100 would increase or decrease skill function by 0.1% based on current stress level. Anything lower than -100 (+toughness modifier) would result in collapse from exhaustion. Ways to reduce stress would be sleep, training dummy, meditation.
Just a few of my thoughts to "flesh out" the idea.
