I was just in my first major battle in kenshi and it was freaking awesome!(2 friendly groups and 4 baddies) Got awesome amounts of loot and bunch of equipment for my soldiers but unfortunately all of them where serverly wounded. After my medic went and healed all of them we started the shameful limp back to town.(we lost) It was really disappointing that all of them were starting to heal on the way back! It should be the opposite long marches back home with extremely wounded legs should not just heal! They should get worse or have a chance of reopening the wound. That completely destroyed all my immersion in the game. All the after battle plans i was formulating of having my medic go back in town and getting some help to carry the wounded back. Nope!lets just walk back to town in the open in the middle of the desert! I mean come on there's bound to be some medical complications with that no? And then also when i finally got back to town and put my brave soldiers to rest(sleeping not dead)they immidietly started to heal at a super human rate! i mean near lethal wounds healing in1-2 days!? i don't thinks so!I get the whole if it takes too long it be boring but 1 or 2 days?! NO WAY. I also wanted to experience the fulfillment of keeping my soldier alive after the battle like fighting infections and fever that sort of thing.
i know this sound like a complaint(and it is) but this is the first time i actually feel the need to complain about a game in the forums which is speaking lvls(in my book) about how great this game is!.
Look i guess what im really trying to say is keep up the amazing work .I get the whole alpha one man well 2 man now thing and know that all good things take time but hope you implement some of the things i wrote about and keep up the great work.
There should be no such thing as just walking it off!
I think the current system is quite good but I do agree with you in some aspects.
Currently only your vitals (head, stomach and chest?) determine if you are incapacitated and can't move. But having severely injured legs does seem to slow down movement. They even get the limping walk animation.
Healing in a bed is much faster than just waiting on foot/walking, but both almost require fast forwarding. You could half the healing rate when not in a bed but I think that would just increase the amount players AFKing at max timescale. Less fun, more grinding might be more realistic but also less fun for many.
What if all injury past 0 (since limbs have a health from -100 to 100) takes longer? so only severe injury. Would make sense.
Also, what if being carried offered a healing advantage similar (but not as good) as sleeping in a bed?

All I want is for limbs to actually be severed at -100 points. I think the max damage my main guys has inflicted is somewhere in the -300s, but still no limb sever. I mean honestly, there have been enemies with -200 in all of their slots except for their head, chest, and stomach and they still walk (limp) around like everything is peachy-keen.

I have concentrated requests on history, politics, religion and social life of Kenshi, but I never thought of this.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful."

I'm quite happy with the current system. (v0.33.0)
You don't instantly snap back to full health like in some newfangled FPS.
Serious wounds are a serious problem.
It takes a looooong time of camping out in the wilderness to heal a noticeable amount of damage.
Once you get back to civilisation, you're "safe".
You can use beds and classic "out of combat regeneration" sets in.
Extra wait time would not add anything fun or useful to the game. You just sit there longer, staring at the yellow bar turning into a green bar. Booooring.

I agree, I already feel like my soldiers have taken damage, and if one of my guys get knocked down and i don't pick them up and run with them, they will slow me down a lot. I usually bandage them, and then have my strong man pick them up and then i go find a bed to lay them in.Gazz wrote:I'm quite happy with the current system. (v0.33.0)

Also I want the -100 damage and then the limp is lost thing to happen. I bet Chris will make a special "Health and Medic" update at some point, where he took a month or so to complete the health and medic system in the game
