You know when you're away from some of your squad mates and they randomly start going unconscious? Don't you wish that you knew when they were in combat? Well, I propose a fix for this problem.

Say that when your characters go into combat their portraits change into a different color or something, maybe like a red. Only the ones in combat should be changed to the different color, example: When a character is actively engaged in combat with an enemy unit. This includes defensive and balanced stances.

That would be nice, although it would have to be refined slightly once we're allowed to control multiple squads. Still, having the squad number tab blink red, perhaps an option for an audible alert would be fairly useful for drawing your attention to unplanned combat in progress.

Maybe take the guidelines from AOE series? Small voice alarm and flashing red on map where the conflict happens. If we get icons on map showing where our troops are, then the icon could flash red.
