First thing, and fairly simple. Blood.

i want to see the sand stained with gore after a battle. there i said it. and many of you want it too. this could also be worked to your advantage in that if a bandit flees or you are out looking for a fight. you can follow the blood trail.

secondly is the amount of cheap swords i now no longer bother collecting from dust bandits etc. i would really like to, when the smithing process becomes available, melt down cheap and nasty swords and get my best smith to make new ones. and it would be sweet if the smithing has great depth. such as the 100 fold katanas seen in medievil japan which no one has the skill to make present day.

Melting down a rusty, crappy sword in the hopes of the metal somehow becoming "better" is impossible. Just saying.

Blood is going to be a feature that will be implemented later in the game, as far as I'm aware. For that, I say patience.

Regarding your second request, that's actually a nice idea. However, I think the quality of the sword you make should depend on the quality of the metals you get. Yes, melting down swords will inevitably lead to a better sword in the end, but you shouldn't be making as good of a sword if you're using some rusty-ass saber versus, say, equipment the sand ninjas carry on them with 1.1 cutting damage. The purer the metal and higher quality swords are going into the melting process, the better the sword you should have when all is said and done.

when i said better i was meaning better craftsmanship. which can still affect quality a lot. but thanks for reply. also collecting swords would mean, if swords didnt just spawn out of thin air and the npc's had to mine for them or buy them, then you could severely weaken your opponents when their new recruits now have to assault you with an old leather belt or a wooden spoon while thier predecessors cheap swords have been melted down to make the spikes that line your fortifications.
