This might tie into someone else's idea for a faction hierarchy (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3837), which I also like. I read somewhere that in Kenshi, you don't focus on an individual, but on a cause. Therefore, you don't play an individual, but a group of them. I like this about Kenshi. However, I was thinking...

It's very rare that a group with a common cause doesn't choose a leader, even if this leader is just a guy everyone else naturally rallies behind. To that end, I feel like you should be able to appoint a faction leader. The role shouldn't come with too many perks, nor too much focus. If anything, maybe they boost the combat abilities or task performance ability of nearby squad members by a small but useful amount. Or, if a morale system ends up being implemented, maybe they bolster the morale of nearby squadmates.

Just a thought I had while playing.

Well. usually i choose my own, despite not appoint In game, i do outside, this is the group leader, but, when a person is creating a faction, he should indeed appoint in game a leader, so like, when a messenger from other faction comes to the palce, he knows who to contact, who to send the stuff, who to declare war, even small villages used to have that "vllage elder" if i am not wrong, i would say mostly just due to faction reason, to know who to go, but i wouldn t say, give boosts just becaues he is leader, unless would be moral boosts, "Wooo out leader fights on our side" "I must fight my best show my leader he can trust me".

At the moment you seem tp be considered a faction pretty much all time in game, as there is alwayts that part, "nameless faction", i hope in future is changed t not be, and just show when you create one.

Yeah, if they were to give boosts to a faction leader, it should definitely be for factionmates and not for the leader himself. After all, the qualities make the man fit for the title, the title doesn't give him the qualities. :)
