If your character causes over 200 damage critical to an enemy in their head, stomach or chest. It would be interesting to see the other enemies pause for a moment, and almost back up in awe if one of the PC characters flourishes and embeds his weapon into the NPC. I would recommend something along the lines of cool half rag doll, half animation pose that causes the NPC to fall to his knees, or just rag doll with the PC holding the weapon inside of him, and having blood gout from his wound. there would be definite chances to be hit here, but it would be interesting to see the mechanics behind NPCs backing off, or even running after something like this.
Maybe even! influence this possibility with mass combat, or warrior spirit attributes. sort of a direct dice roll against the enemies skills, and yours. This would see if the critical lands, and if your remaining enemies just stand there speechless, or try and stop you from finishing. It could also be added where you get temporary bonuses to attack speed, strength, dexterity, and damage multipliers when this happens.
Edit: http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... =16&t=4166 In the way of Combat, and finishing blows this topic is very supportive.
Particularly; the negative 100 combat finisher could also imply for any arena circumstances, as a glorious kill, or something like in roman times, if an enemy is brought down to 0 or -1 in his stomach, he might just lay on the ground, or even stand and wait for a final blow.
Combat : Negative 100 Critical Finisher.

I think it could work in the arena, but I hesitate to ask for such a thing in actual group combat. See I would hate to see a longer than normal animation leaving my characters (or enemy characters) invulnerable or extra vulnerable just for the sake of making a kill look better. But when its the last man standing in a group, then go right ahead and put in some over-the-top-i'm-12-and-think-mortal-kombat-2-is-AWESOME death animations.
Protip: I really do like over the top animations.

Now hold up, Maybe this could be a use for the yet to be implemented "mass combat skill". If your mass combat skill is high enough, you can dodge "attacks of opportunity" while killing people, AND get tons of "attacks of opportunity" fighting in a mass group. It would make for some awesome fights.
You have to admit, for a game in early alpha, Kenshi has some very fun to watch fights.
