Recruitment Office

I would like to be able to build some sort of recruitment building in my town. NPCs would sometimes come to join your sqaud/army based on the fame or reputation of your faction. A small unrecognised faction would only get the ocasional merc or unskilled peasant but a large powerful faction will get a regular supply of soldiers and workers.
This means when we can have armies and large empires it will make a lot more sense than recruiting people from taverns.

That actually sounds really fun.
If you have small group of "heroes" who protect their home town and fight all the bandits out there, you might get pretty powerful units, maybe ex-soldier or cop, who wishes to seek immortality and honor from you. But only very rarely people would come to you.
If you have big army, in war against other big faction, you would get much more recruits but they would be just normal soldiers or rookies, seeking for fortune and risking their life in hope of good loot. Maybe you couldn't control them straight but having a general or something to give them orders.
Hated bandit group would get only disloyal lowlife who are ready to do anything for food and 200 cats but as soon as someone gives better offer, they will stab you in the back.

Trowing my thumbs up here as well.
And that could be a place for other factions where you could join the army as well, at least big ones.

Agreed. I hate wandering from town to town across the map, and only coming back with 1 new soldier..

Nice idea, especially with Santa's additions.

Like it too.
Can there be a poll or something to show the amount of support this one has?
Wonder if those recruitment offices in the towns might have some plans of their own already,

I don“t think there would be much use of it soon, this sounds something for when there are armies around, with 20 people is easy enough to manage the recruit, unless you too lazy to go around to look for recruits or to even reset the npcs

.

Good one, I support this idea.
As far as only being able to control 20 people...
I always thought that you should be able to research an ability that gives you the power to quarter and control more troops.

Wait until the UI is updated and armies are implemented.. Then, knock yourself out

If we have this, awesome... BUT... on one condition...
We need a loyalty meter / happiness. What keeps these people sticking together? Bonuses for long term friendship of fighting side by side, bandaging one another, stuff like that could add to the bonus... But let's have something that makes sense for some reason certain characters will join you, others will not.
You're a bandit killing all, shady characters you can hire might come to you. You're an honorable fighter keeping the peace and helping those in need, you get better people who are more loyal to you. Things like that to keep your faction growing and happy would be cool.
I see all the time bandit leaders and what not, and all they do is give me a lil better armor and wep to sale over the others, plus a bounty. Maybe these leaders should give a bonus to squadies around, but the LEADER of the faction. Highly skilled. Instead of seeing "leaders" roaming the desert, rename them to officers. Okay I'm rolling off ideas on top of OP so I shall stop before i get ahead of myself
