Ive noticed that certain weapons that I am crafting using Steel bars and fabrics, last level were only using Iron Ore and fabrics.

Perhaps the materials boxes could be replaced with one large grid like shopkeepers have, that can stack a certain amount of materials, and the list of things you can make, allows or disallows things as you have the materials in. Automatic materials insertion would grab stacks of materials the current project needs and prioritize space for the next 4 or 5 projects into the materials they will need.
