Hi Chris,

I was wondering if you would consider adding in two new features to the game that would make it much easier to manage your squad with relation to base security.

I would really like to see a guard area option added. This would be a command that could be issued to your squad member similar to the others already in existence in the game: follow, bodyguard, non combat etc that tells the squad member to stand at his current position and then guard it.

Essentially if any bandits or combatants enter into your squad members field he will intercept them with any of his fellow guards also set to this task deal with them and then return to the original position he was assigned too.

It is not even essential that this is a new command feature, perhaps the existing bodyguard option could be amended to guard and then you could simply choose to apply it to whatever you click be it a building an npc a machine whatever...

The other feature would be a patrol feature. By holding down shift and right clicking you will set a waypoint which your squad members to move towards. You can then shift and click another three other nearby locations and presto waypoints two to five are now created. Your squad will now walk from waypoint one to five and then back again until they receive new orders.

If at any point bandits are encountered the system takes a snapshot of their current location before initiating combat and once the combat is resolved the squad resumes its patrol from the exact position they were before combat started.

Just a couple of small features you might be interested in :D

Right now you can que up a set of waypoints to walk to with shift and click. This works fine. I'd like to see alt or some other modifier used for patrols.

bumping for the sake of progress!!

i like the sound of this. i'd love to have my guards patrol the area just outside my gates. rather than letting bandits get to the gates and start bashing it to hell, have my guards intercept them before they get the chance.

You should make turrets on the walls and have that be your guards' Jobs.
Close the gate right before the bandits get there and you've got a killing field.
For maximum death, turn the entrance of your base into a gauntlet with 3, or more, gates capable of locking whole groups of enemies inside. :D

I use shift+click to train my people. I keep having to shift click. It's better training in general for when you need to go somewhere, like between forts, which is where Kenshi is trying to go. Turtling up in one fort forever should not be a thing.
