Request #1:
Since just about everyone who plays uses backpacks, and removes those backpacks to fight, a UI button to mass-remove backpacks to inventory and mass-equip backpacks would be very convenient.
Request #2:
Although this has been suggested in another thread asking for more diversity in areas/biomes, I'm requesting a slightly different feature. Currently, when you mod another "homeless" faction into the game, or solitary wanderers, or whatever, your only choices for spawn areas in the FCS are "desert" and "central". I would love to see the map spawn areas divided up into smaller chunks. For example, you currently have cannibals in the northeast only (although I'm guessing this was accomplished by using the cannibal villages rather than a biome > spawn area). Anyway... it would be great to be able to add homeless NPC's with a bit more specificity than can currently be done. For an example, on the current map I could add a southern tribe, a mountain tribe in the east, a desert tribe in the north, and a border tribe in the west/southwest.
Two requests

this will most likely change when the new map is added
current one is only a placeholder until then.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

I would honestly prefer that backpacks not be so easily removed unless left on the ground so that any NPCs nearby are able to pick it up and equip it.
Possibly make it so that a backpack that contains 1 or more objects is unable to be placed in a character's personal inventory.
It just makes more sense to me that way, from an IRL standpoint (even though stuffing an empty backpack into your pockets is still pretty demanding), and it would also make the game that much more grueling for the player.
Then instead of just swapping backpacks full of building materials and what not off your back and back on again with full security (aside from being looted in the event of unconsciousness), the player will be forced to make the decision of getting used to fighting while wearing backpacks or drop the backpack to the ground and risk a random NPC picking it up, potentially even a friendly NPC "finding it on the ground".

Agreed with PnzrNorm...
Let's not add features of casualization just to make casualization even more casual.
I'd like to see backbacks unable to be placed in the main inventory aswell if they contain anything within them, aswell as not being able to be placed in other backpacks... Seems a bit more logical than making illogic "more convenient".

By contrast, check out Changing Equipment Should Not Be Instant
I wasn't aware that people did that nor had I even thought of the idea.Targa wrote:Since just about everyone who plays uses backpacks, and removes those backpacks to fight, a UI button to mass-remove backpacks to inventory and mass-equip backpacks would be very convenient.
If you want to be that cheap about it, you might as well just mod the backpacks to have no effect upon combat speed and skill in the first place. This would be a VERY easy mod to make.
Items/Containers/(pick your preferred backpack)
Set combat skill bonus = 0
Set Combat Speed Mult = 1.0
Then you can wear them without any penalty. That is sort of cheating the default balances, but you are taking them off before combat anyhow so you are pretty well already doing so... all be it in a very inefficient manor. This small mod would have the same effect as what you are requesting.
