Hello ,

Gonna put at least 4 ideas here , was wondering about doing 3 diff topic but finally found that the 3 were kinda linked so gonna put it here in distinct wall of text :)

Yesterday after finishing to fully equip my squad (Edge 5 and others) i decided to attack the slavers camp , After finishing them (And killing them with theirs own crossbow \o/) , found out that my guys attacked and killed some slaves too. And when i hovered over them , found out that i was only able to attack them.... sadly , so i took every slavers that survived and put them in theirs own cages . Found a slave vendor on my way back , and speaking to him (before killing him) , Showed me that i could have sold him some slave ,bought some or sold wares.

So....

First Idea : More complex slave system

So a slave is not a willing man wanting to work for you naked for no money forever ;)
Hence we give him three more stats :
- Resignation : Begin low , show the slave will to escape.
- Loyalty : Begin negative , show the slave will to help you.
- Rebellion : (Hidden) , Relation between his faction and yours and the way you acquired him , influe heavily of this stat beginning value . At full , he will rebel , try to escape , get first weapon and armor he can get and fight his way out. Will try to get help from others slaves.

All theses three stats are influenced by walls around , number of slavers around them , numbers of npc around them , number of his faction npc near , + some other attributes.

As a slave will try to escape as soon as possible , you can't give him order as long as he isnt set in a cage. After you get your first slave , (or put an inconscious guy in a cage) You'll get a windows in your town option to choose what will be theirs life conditions : How much time per day will you feed/water them : Can they keep cloths , Will they work at dark , Will they be healed if they get wounded , Will you pay them for theirs work (Ya be a gentle slaver (Even if a slaver is an a**hole by default)) If they rebel , will they be left to die , Healed or just put back into the cage, or maybe sent to arena. All thoses will influe on the three stats that slaves have

For a guy to become slave master you would just need to take him and shift click on a cage . For a building to be operated by a slave you would need to click on the slave button (Near the battery and power buttons).

Finally if loyalty and resignation is high enough , you can try to hire the slave into your squad , If it is too low he will insult you , If it is not enough he can accept then escape short after.

Edit : Forgot something : at my opinion there is 4 types of Slaves : War Slaves (ex dust bandit that attacked you) , Crime Slaves (Sand jounin with bounty of 5000, is now sold as slave for 6000), Debt slave (Guy that sold himself because he is poor) , and Raid slave (poor guy that did nothing and got enslave in a raid) . Depending on the type , they could begin with differents stats

Second idea : Arena

Arena : Basically you put four batiments, with a central place in center of them , Each batiment is a different team , so when you click on the Arena button , all 4 batiments open and people will fight.

Permanent job of Arena is a guy that enter arena , take the unconscious guys and put them down outside of arena, allowing them to be healed/rescued by theirs factions. Good way to train people for actual fights. As guys entering arena take temporary new faction , Sub factions you could call them , they will not get attacked by people .

Third idea : Sub faction

Creating sub faction for every faction : They can attack each others , help each others , or just be more specialized kind of npc.

Exemple : Hungry bandits have : Beggars , Cannibals , Hungry Bandits.
Dust bandits gets : Thieves , Dust bandits , Enslavers
Slavers get : Slavers , Buyers , Guards , Escaped retrievers.

Raiding

Yesterday after attacking slaver camp , went attacking Shark , even killed a few shopkeepers , Now when i'm attacking a place where each side hate each other , i don't see why i should pay money to the guy i just killed , to get things in his counter . Tried with stealth too , can't steal what is the counter either.

So give us a raiding mode because now : We attack , we destroy , we murder , we rape (Sadly we can't ) , we enslave (Put people into cage) , but we can't loot a damn counter without giving money . Same idea with Mr.Flooppy , if i killed him , why should i still pay him to use his bed?

Great extensions with the slave-topic. I had proposed to me in the way to start the slaves to run away when they are unhappy.
You can indeed times with me When it comes to "suggestions / Vorschläge" look what I wrote at the slaves, determined one could combine both proposals.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The proposal with the Arena I find interesting, is it a kind of Colosseum, where slaves / criminals / gladiators / her freedom to fight for money. Alternatively, work out your own people there, whether attacking or defending.

If is then fought in the arena to make money, one can abeschließen bet who wins and also another gladiator cope "breed" is getting better and deserve more and more prize money for, and this will also be rewarded with Privillegien to prevent it by turns and attacks the guards.

If necessary, you can also make your own people to gladiators.
In addition to money one can win in the arena fame and reputation in your particular group.

Tournaments would also fit well in the arena that are held regularly and as long as round after round fight until a winner is left. So they fight there but honorably only until the opponent is unconscious, not until he dies.
Agonies I could imagine in bandits hiding in small arenas where people have to fight to the death, possibly warring factions.

Currently I build my "prisons" with basic defensive walls around the cells and one gate. If you leave a weapon out in the middle and open two cages with two different factions npcs, they will both run to the middle and grab weapons or armor and then fight it out. The only draw back is that I have to have someone inside the "Arena" to open the cages.

If we could have a new cage like "Gladiator cage" with an editable temp faction name slot. i.e. team 1 and team 2, And have a lever that we could name the same. when you throw the lever all cages with a matching name are unlocked. Those inside have their faction or a temp/sub faction set to the name of the cage and then they could be set to hostile to the other team. When there are no conscious members of the opposing team left you would tell the gladiators to return to their cells.

That would be "all" you would need to have arena battles.

You could also have a booth or table where you could place bets on which team would win. Depending on the number of gladiators who have returned to the cells. it would give you a ticket when you place the bet and you would sell that ticket back for the price of your winnings.

I might see what I can mod, cause you can certainly create the cages with a mod. The lever and betting table will be more tricky.

@swillo i think the changing faction will be more tricky.

For the gladiator cage you could use power . 1 power on/off . it is powered , Cage is closed , It isnt powered cage is open

personally i'd like to have Arenas. both in towns an the ability to have them in my own. they could be a nice way to train, gain a name, an earn some money/skill when you start off. instead of the run into the desert blindly get beaten to death by bandits, start to get up only to be mauled by dogs, or other wild life, only to yet again start to get up when hungry bandits come knock you out an take your stuff(ya know a typical week in Kenshi) which will then result in you becoming a slave when it becomes a perfected system. .

As for Slavery i'm not a fan of it odds are when it gets implemented i'll end up attacking all the slave trains i see an freeing people an trying to recruit them for my own faction.

I think though that slaves shouldn't 'always' try to escape it should depend on numerous factors from how well you treat them to how confident they're in there odds of surviving if they leave.

not to mention how long you've been a slave .

since it isn't unheard of for slaves to refuse to leave a 'good' master who treats them well even if othes try to free them , with no consquences. course i wouldn't call them a slave then but they historically were still called a slave, since it was there status.

hopefully NPC slave owners will be good , and bad not all bad o.o some will treat slaves well , and feed/water them well. where as others will barely feed, or water them an work them harshly.

As for the others..

I don't mind sub-factions but i think you mean more classes/variety..then factions.

it'd be nice if each nation had its own number of lords and vassals that all work toward the betterment of themselves, or the empire - kinda like Mount and Blades Lords do. it seems somewhat realistic it happened in Europe, and Japan, and China Nobles always fighting for more power . some serving out of loyalty others for power lust.

there could be different branches of military too . like imperial lord Nobunaga could be the head of the Oda branch which would specialize in its own thing. while the Akechi branch of the Oda would eventually oppose an kill Nobunaga for a reason that will be speculated for centuries :(

No comment on raiding.
