Only way attacking that base is hard is if they get the gate down and harpoon you a bunch before youre inside. still get those dude off the harpoon and if your strong enough it is a fairly easy run.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the end-all and be-all instance in the game, either. Don't forget this is only a portion of the game, and the Dust Bandits aren't by any means end-game opponents.
I'd expect a Black Dragon boss to be more of a challenge. There has to be room for greater challenge elsewhere, or opening the map becomes kind of frivolous.

Not going to lie, I did use the Forgotten kit to beef him up to 70 in skills and gave him better gear. Made for one hell of a fight in the tower at night.
Overall, it's just one of those things that we can easily adjust ourselves. Now, if they ever manage to figure out whats making prisoners not stay in cages after loading I could remake my training arena for some good skill gains again.
