If it was an option to turn on, maybe, but I would imagine this only leading to frustration.
I regularly have wounded guys fighting, and the game's code even reflects that in toughness. This would interfere more often than help, and it's really not that difficult to put a character to bed. However....
Maybe a button similar to the 'Medic' and 'Rescue' buttons could be added that has the character go to the nearest free (non-pay) bed available, and then they go to sleep. That kind of automation would be a lot more agreeable and a lot less frustrating in my eyes.

Doesn't "Rescue" job already fulfills this? Never used it, but judging by description it's what it does: one char keep an eye on wounded and haul them to bed if needed. Kinda funny if you think about it though: *grab* - you're wounded, you need sleep - nooo! put me down! i must fight! nooo 8)

Rescue is for incapacitated characters. This would just be a way of fine-tuning the process of sending your characters to bed under normal circumstances, sort of like the AI already does after battles but giving the player control over when it happens -- select-all, then click 'Sleep' and all damaged characters go and find a bed nearby.
