Just a few things i have been wanting to know for awhile:

1) I know it's alpha, but do we get to keep our men up to beta with no wipes :?: I understand import.
If so, what would be the exceptions?

2) Will the map/game editor mess up the game in anyway, or my saves? To go a little deeper, if i use the in game editor, will it prevent me from importing to a new map,or mess my men up when an update comes out in anyway.

3) Would it just be smarter to not get so darn attached to my men?:)

Thanks if you can understand what am trying to know. If not just post as close to the topic as you can.

Don't see why not, Importing lets us keep our people thru each content update and patches.
As for exceptions i have not read anywhere on these forums or Steam where this would be in effect or will be.

In game editor can mess up your game play, hence why i tell people to use it with caution. As for corrupting your saves. any game now thats been made or is being made has the potential to crash and or ruin your save or all of them. Even Cloud saves have been known to become corrupted.
We suggest that you use multiple saves and then make copies of those and store them in a different directory or removable storage media device.
Things can go wrong in Alpha/beta or full release games.

Hey Castle, just wanted to say that while you will probably get to keep your characters up to final release, chances are you will not get to keep your buildings. I say that because when the map update occurs, giving us a 4x larger map with more biomes, the terrain will change, and would conceivably leave our buildings floating or on impossible terrain. Once the map update goes through we should be able to hang onto buildings though.

Oh, I also remember reading that in the final version, NPC cities will be randomly placed/generated.

Also: I'm Mengy-Kun <3! on the steam forums.

Besides that, buildings will be changed aparently, so the current ones migh be eliminated just like what happened with the old armours.

Maybe just keep an extra copy of the original save in case something does go wrong.

I usually keeps my important files or docs in .zip/.rar format. Seems like viruses don't affect them and so far files that have been kept this way since early 2000 haven't got damaged...yet. ;)
