Now I've been slowly following this game since I heard about it years ago.. Watched a few streams of it and been reading reviews over time. I'm loving the idea and all that behind the game but is it worth getting into now? And when I mean that i mean..
Is it playable? (AI arn't broken? Combat isn't broken, crafting etc whatever it maybe)
I don't want to invest time into something that has more bugs than playability if you catch my drift.
Is there development update area? Or weekly updates? I've been involved in plenty of early access / Alpha communities but the game is at least playable in regards to PVP / PVE / Crafting / Leveling systems .. so I understand the struggle of dealing with a buggy game but from all the reviews I've been reading from this year is that this game is still very buggy and difficult to play in regards to bugs and what not.
If this is the case than I'll continue to wait until I get into it as i don't have a lot of free time to invest into something that would be considered still highly broken in regards to playability.
Thanks in advance.
Should I wait or jump on into Kenshi?
IMO it sounds like you should definitely wait. At least till about July or so when things might actually be a bit more stable. But right now it doesn't sound like the kind of game you should get into.

The 0.74.0 update brought a whole swathe of bugs with it. but they're doing some pretty major overhauls so it's to bee expected. Over the last few months the game has been heavily, HEAVILY added to, and overall is a better experience.
Plus on a sidenote the devs actually listen to people on the forums and regularly take part in the conversation. Especially Chris, He loves talking to peeps.

Next stable update is said to come out at the end of the current bug fixing wave of patches. So expect to have a fully functional new UI, character editor, slavery, NPCs that protect you from bandits, packs of animals that don't immediately maul you, and the ability to tell a guy to automatically burn every corpse possible that he can find.
Give it a month or two they've already hotfixed build 74 twice (very impressive for Lofi) and are actively looking into bugs instead of feature building, which will make the game playable up till you build a town and have nothing left to complete. If you don't want to simply try out the combat and basic economic mechanics than I would suggest waiting much longer for the new world map and further features to be completed.
Its good that you bought it, now if you have installed it I suggest that you remove the game files and just let it sit their in your steam library for a while and keep checking the forums for when the new world map is launched and all path finding issues have been fixed or else be prepared to play a game of fun ->fun-> irritation->irritation->fun->bang your head on keyboard->fun->rage quit->run game again and repeat.
Well, to answer that question, you may have to look into yourself and find what are your traits.
For me, I felt that I am fine leaping into the buggy territory so I can point out a general direction on what caused a crash or graphical error, etc. that someone can look into it. I don't usually rage if something off just happens terribly, since I'm there to spot potential issues and see how the game world turns.
Once such options are there or not, that is.

...so long as that guy knows which corpses are actually still alive-but-unconscious and one of their own. I don't appreciate a funeral pyre set too early, reminding me of the Lord of the Rings sort of scene... but I'll make exceptions to literally grill the one bandit/dog who nearly killed my gunner guard.PnzrNorm wrote:the ability to tell a guy to automatically burn every corpse possible that he can find.

I mean the guy that grabs every Dead body and puts it in the Corpse Furnace... its a real, functional part of Kenshi right now.Aereto wrote:...so long as that guy knows which corpses are actually still alive-but-unconscious and one of their own. That does sound like I need to test the function myself, despite that others beat me to it. *looks into the to-do list and adds another line at the bottom part* I'll get right to it once I have the base building/planning worked out.PnzrNorm wrote: I mean the guy that grabs every Dead body and puts it in the Corpse Furnace... its a real, functional part of Kenshi right now.
