Okay, I was browsing Desura and saw that Kenshi's price had gone up from £6.49 to £7.49 and thought, "WTF? Isn't it still $10?"

Why's the price gone up, pray tell? £7.49 is worth $11.64 FYI.

30%!? That's bullsh... bull... Bolsheviks! I don't know, I guess I get too worked up about people taking money for others' work. But I did buy it on this website :D

This is why I bought Mount & Blade off of their website rather than Steam. They give you a key that's valid with Steam anyways so might as well =)

Steam does tend to have really good sales though =p

EDIT: Also, if this is like M&B, the price will go up as development reaches its more finished state, encouraging people to pre-order sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I'd imagine with major additions to the game, Chris might bump up price as the game nears completion, but he's the only one that really knows his plan for that, unless he's posted it on the site somewhere and I've forgotten. XD;;

But yeah, a lot of game developers do that to encourage pre-ordering so they can get a little food on their table while they work. :)

Actually 30% is fairly standard considering if you get your game on Steam or Gamersgate or wherever. Its far better than anything Chris would recieve from a boxed game. Check this article out, Anatomy of a $60 video game.

My question is why haven't games from Steam or Gamersgate gone down in price since the majority of the costs associated with a retail game have simply gone away with digital downloads. They could probably take $20 off the top of a major title and still make a ton of money off of it.

maybe because they can make two tons of money by keeping the price up ;)

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.
