We currently accommodate channels for most of your Kenshi needs, with questions being asked and answered on a regular basis. My main objective as the owner (which is the shared objective of the community) is to provide a hub for Kenshi-related activity, while still leaving wiggle room for people to bond and be themselves outside of discussing the game.
The server features a few bots, though you'll likely only see Mee6. You might also see NowLive, which is used to advertise Twitch streams featuring Kenshi (at the request of Twitch streamers, with no criteria on their behalf). Aside from those two, we have Dyno and Rhythm, though both hardly see any use and are more there for novelty at this point.
There are also roles on this server, but it's not really appropriate to call them "ranks". Functionally, these roles server no real purpose (aside from the ones assigned to moderators and allowing users to change their nickname after the starter role is passed), and instead just add some color and flair to the discussion. It's also a way of highlighting our more veteran members who have been with and helped our community for a long time. To ensure there is no staff bias, all of these roles are assigned by Mee6 according to ones activity on the server.
Here is a full breakdown of our more popular, or functionally diverse/useful channels:
- General Discussion channel, used to discuss any and everything (within the rules).
- Kenshi Discussion channel, which sees pretty much hourly over many months.
- Kenshi Media, which is where users can post... well, Kenshi-related media. Videos, images, the choice is yours.
- Several utilitarian channels such as a link to the Kenshi subreddit (automatically posting topics from over there), a changelog for Kenshi updates (maintained by the moderation team), and an additional link to the KenshiOfficial Twitter page!
- Some modding-specific channels, ranging from general discussion to Blender tips and tricks to a place for modders to advertise and post updates for their work. It's here where many popular mods were conceptualized and worked on, such as the Kenshi Icons mod (which is now vanilla).
