Well, i haven't been here that long, you should check out the membership list. There are some guys who have been here for years. I just like to stick my nose in everything so I have the second most posts.

As for your idea. It is interesting. Will bring people back more. But if someone misses out by a day or 2 or there is some confusion somewhere I can see things could get messy very quickly. In the end it is up to benpowell what he does with his keys but it would work best if names aren't mentioned unless they get the key (unless they never return of course).

Ben could (and I think is) adding some weighting or double tickets to people who are active and not just looking for a free ride. But it is best if this happens behind the scenes a bit.

Thing about sending a key to a person is that he already has it and will have it once he looks in his inbox so you cant really give it to someone else. However the thing is. I doubt a person can miss out by 5 days or maybe even a week. That's already considered not being active on the forums (at least IMO). So he could send to the inbox of the person saying something like. Would you like to claim your key?. 5 days pass, no answer? You pick a new winner and he is invalid. The 5 days can be changed to anything I am just using it as an example.

Actually ben said that he was going to do exactly what you said, and the double ticked thing for active people is done already, i think he edited the OP and added that.

Also thanks for the words blxz :P.

Going to end up buying this game either way, as I'm slowly becoming obsessed with it; I'd love a chance to win it though, as money is getting tight! :D

U know... I appreciate your want of supporting game and it might be good idea to buy extra activation codes and give them to people like this but there is one problem... Since everybody here is hoping to win the code for free they don't buy the game. And even though your will is good and try to raise money for Kenshi, I think this is actually more harm than help. If you give away 10 codes, there's still 30 competitors who would buy the game but they don't because they hope to get it free. :? Correct me if I'm wrong ;)

Good point. I suppose like any promotional drive the point is to generate some interest. If people don't win but then go on to buy the game afterwards because they got in the mood and hype then that is a win. if they get annoyed and never come back then, well...that's immature but unlucky.

In the end it is a bit of fun. If benpowell has some spare money and is willing to do this then good for him.

Well you are both wrong and right. You see there are some people who came here with the mindset of "Free game? YEAH FREE GAME! I WANT IT COZ ITS FREE!!!" And in my honest opinion. Them leaving and never coming back is a good thing. Not good from a business standpoint, but they only came because the game is free so I doubt they would have bought the game anyways. They most probably wouldn't care about the community as well. (Which can be seen from the post count of almost everyone who entered the raffle.) Oh and I am not blaming these people. But usually these people would just pirate the damn game anyways the first opportunity they get. So yeah.

There are some people (Like myself) Who just can not buy the game. This can be due to many reasons, the most common one is their parents wont let them use their credit card to buy it. And since there is no other way. They just cant. Or like in my case (Which is probably a very rare one) My parents don't even HAVE a credit card... So fat chance with that... Made me hate my mother because she just doesn't trust banks... *Sigh* This is probably hard for someone to understand if this doesn't happen to them...

And there are some people who already knew of the game and then saw this and thought "I can get this game for free? Well worth a try" now these types of people will most probably buy this game at one point or another, simply because they enjoy the game. And hell I would certainly like these people in the community.

Now once this raffle is over (which it will be. He didn't say this raffle will go on for all eternity) the people will know that they CAN NOT get this game for free. Unless they barely payed attention to the forums which is probably the case. Now these 30 competitors who are left. Would either buy this game at one point. Leave coz they don't get a free game. Pirate it. Or will not be able to buy it for a few years till they get a credit card.

So yeah that pretty much sums a lot of things up. Your post was just begging for a reply from me so I couldn't help it  I probably forgot to add some other people or made some mistakes but it should sum things up.

I think paypal needs a credit card or something. As for visa gift cards, never heard of them. And doubt they are even sold here.

EDIT: I never even heard of Visa before you mentioned it. I though you were talking about the document which probably says just how popular visa cards are in this country. As in 0% popular...

You don't need a credit card for paypal. A bank account is enough.
You can make a paypal account and transfer money to them, it takes about 1-2 days then you get an email saying the money is there and you can then use that money however you which.

In paypal, you click on "top up" and there you'll find the beneficiary name and IBAN and such to make a bank transfer

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.
