Chris has said time and time again that kenshi will either be a success or a complete flop based on how many people know about kenshi. That said, we really need to get the word out. The sooner the better in fact.

It'd help everyone out if you could make a simple topic on your favorite forum about kenshi - but we aren't asking for spam. Make your topic well thought out, include varying features of kenshi.
A favorite tactic of mine is to mask it under a general-indy game topic, such as "Indie games you're currently watching" And go into depth why I'm looking at kenshi. It gets the word out, opens discussion, and you can find some more interesting indie games in the works too.

It takes only a few minutes to make a topic, and could potentially add dozens of new users to these forums.

Feel free to delete this chris, but maybe add some form of incentive to people who bring others to this forum (cough free game cough)

Just don't do what rustknight did and post on another game's forum saying "kenshi is better". It will get torn apart that way.

Lol, not the best way to get publicity, but I guess if it works, it works. I think, if I was going to post on another game's forums, I'd probably focus more on the lines of, "If you like this game, you'll also like Kenshi," rather than his method.

I just said that it's better from other points of view, and let's face it.

Mount and Blade is booring.

Yeah sure some sort of nice combat mechanics but it's repetative, and the only pourpuse of that game is just kill kill kill. And wait, that is what? version 1.0? I guess i would have understood if the game wasn't finish or something but the way it looks now, it even tries to rip off, say like this:

You have a game 70 % done, and then announce it finished, only to make an expansion to finish the intened features, and also adding multiplayer. This is the first game that i heard of to have multiplayer in an expansion.

And yes i admit, maybe i did start with the wrong foot on taleworlds, but everybody had their message then when i said better in SOME aspects, plus it created a lot of controversy on the forum and that is not bad at all.

I guess the guys from taleworlds were sort of right, i am too much of an enthusiast, but then again i don't want to pretend i'm someone else, being indiferent about things i feel hype about (like kenshi).

Take a chill pill, there are things that simply won't happen in Kenshi, sorry to tell you, but even Chris knows there are limits.

Plus, big deal if the games unfinished, the updates are free if you bought it.

And Mount & Blade has more then just killing, yes, it's about killing, managing an army to kill. Of course, I still havn't compleated 1 game, it's too freaking long. (When I say compleate, I mean total world domination)

Easying the hype, don't not buy it.

Mount & Blade is very repetitive, and as it feels very incomplete. When you're running your own kingdom you don't even have the option to recruit lords, that alone is game breaking. Try defending even a small kingdom by yourself. :x

So they're making an expansion, and obviously it isn't going to be a free update, which adds in that ability as well as fixing a few other things and adding in the much-vaunted multiplayer mode.

Mount & Blade reached version 1 in a very sad state, I hope Kenshi doesn't follow its path too closely.

Hi,

i think you have a few very interesting ideas and I would love to see the game released even in an preliminary state. Lots of them seem taken for a MUD text only role-playing game i used to play a long time ago called Dartmud. Did you ever played that? ...

Either way, i think Ogre3D is the best place to advertise it initially! And since a picture worth more then 1000 words, that's one good way to do it!

I hope to get to play it soon ;-)

Keep up the good work,

iulian

P.S. it's a shame it's not going to be multilayer! Never underestimate people's need to show off! ;-)
