Painfully slow updating

I just bought Kenshi, installed it, and am now trying to update. Unfortunately, my download speed within the updater is hovering around 100KB/s. I have a cable connection that usually downloads at 2.5MB/s. Needless to say, this is rather frustrating.

So, is this download speed typical? And if not, are there any ways to speed it up or is there any other way to acquire the updates? At this rate just updating the game will take hours.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just tested on a fresh install of Kenshi this morning. There wasn't any noticeable speed issues while updating and patching.

That's odd. Does anybody know what might be causing my speeds to be so slow? I've had this PC since June and have never had any issues downloading anything.

From my experience the updates are around 20mb in total size. Even the full game download which only needs to be done once is only ~600mb which is an hour or so at that speed.

I believe you are either grossly impatient or downloading the wrong file.

8 bits per second = 1 bytes per second
2,5 mbit = 320 kbyte (max speed)

That is an interesting first post on these forums. Any reason you made it? What is it for?

The file that was being downloaded through the updater was ~600MB. What's odd is that the speed remained low, yet once it was about 25% done, it went from there to fully downloaded in no time.

I don't know what was going on but everything is working now.

@EarlCherry - When I was referring to the 2.5MB/s download speed, I was talking about the actual speed of the download. My connection runs between 12 - 16mbit/sec.
