Lo-Fi Games

Hi! i just bought this game on steam, i love the idea and design of it! it's like a combination of borderlands, the sims and fallout all wrapped into one, absolutely love it

but it appears i am having some trouble.... first off, walls.... how do you build them? they seem to be missing from the list or maybe i dunno where to find them.... i have everything researched - it may also be important to note that i only have 4 buildings and from the look of the wiki it seems there are.... 6? the four i have are the small shed, house, large house, and saloon... i dont have any of the circular buildings - outposts?

i believe this may be steam related....
if it is... does my kenshi key transfer over to the dl you have here? if steam hadn't greenlighted the game i never would have known about it so i decided to buy it on steam for the extra dollars.

second problem is the text in game... i run it on a 1980x1080 screen, there are no options in game to change screen size, and i think this may be a factor - i'll link a ss to give an example....

uh, finally, i am using direct3d 9.... is there a better one i should be using? it doesn't lag or anything or look bad.... but if it'll fix text problems - im down for a change

Outposts were available to be built, but upon the advent of .40 they were temporarily removed. When the higher tiers of research are put back into the game, they will be accessible again. As for walls, you should be able to find them under the "Defenses" category of buildings, although they are a little bit buggy, so don't attempt to build layers of walls with multiple gates just yet, I believe you could set up multiple layers of walls, just without gates except for the exterior. Those issues are being addressed, and gates revamped so that they cannot be placed "backwards" which results in some unusual AI activity.

Chris is quite quick about addressing these issues generally, but the .40 patch contained a lot of new materials and new things to go wrong. Between working to address any issues, and get the armor/weapon crafting in, and working it out so that older purchasers can feed their key into Steam and the like he's got a lot on his plate currently. Currently I believe we will be seeing armor/weapon crafting introduced, and then the larger outpost buildings reintroduced, but that will take a bit of time.

I know that there are mods in the mod section that unlocked higher tier research stations and higher tiers of items that are in the code but not yet in the game, I am unsure if they will currently allow you to access outposts.

To fix your Text in-game when you double click your game to start a little box will start that's where you edit your screen ratio.. me and my friend bought it on steam also so try this and let me know i hope i explained it good enough for you and other people to fix this? i'm playing currently as i type this so yeah.. and as far as walls.. i need them me and my friend are tired of gettting murked lol. is there a way to build them? or did he remove them so we can't build them anymore??

I haven't played since .39 so I can't say for certain they weren't removed.

But if they were in the game still, you should be able to research them under defense and then construct them, also under defense.

He removed it since they made pathfinding AI broke and buggy. (From what I heard!)

Indeed. There were a lot of bug reports about people stuck on walls. bandits moving through them and generally pathfinding issues galore.

Outpost buildings can be enabled through the forgotten construction set. It would only take a couple of minutes to do.. plus 10-20 minutes going through the tutorial on the modding forum.

You need to lower the research requirement.

If you are having trouble getting attacked early on do what i did. I started my outpost close to a town so the guards could help me with larger mobs. Now i have 12 members and all the buildings possible constructed. My men can now take on large mobs of dust bandits! Now i laugh in their faces
