I've been loving this game based on what I've played of it thus far, but it's just crazy that I have such trouble running this game on max settings. I mean, it's definitely not surprising, given the fact that this game is still in Alpha and optimization has no doubt not been started on yet. That being said, I'd figure that a computer with 3.4 ghz processor, a GTX 530 (certainly not the best 500 series card, but useable), and 8 gigs of ram would be able to at least set the game to high texture quality, with maybe a few things that could also be turned up. I assume of course that this will be fixed later on in the beta stage, it's just something that came to my mind.
Other than that, however, this game seems like a very ambitious project that I hope to see succeed. There's not a whole lot of games that fill the RPG/RTS role while also being a good sandbox game. The only ones in recent memory are Mount and Blade, but this game seems like it will have far more depth in the end. I look forward to seeing more features being implemented and giving as much help as I can in regards to reporting bug fixes and the like.
So, in short, good job Lo-Fi Games! (I'd state your name specifically, but I do not seem to know it yet, sorry.) It's a lot of fun so far, and I hope to see more fun coming into the game over the next months/years it takes to develop this game to it's fullest potential.

Turn on vsync, run in full screen, and reduce shadow quality. That'll let you run it pretty well. I was running this on a gtx 275 before I upgraded to a 690.

I have no problems with a quad core 9550 (~2.8 per core) processer and a GTX 285.

It is strange to be having problems with that machine. I'm running medium on a little duel-core 1.3 laptop with 2GB ram and AMD integrated graphics. Initial load time is kinda painful, but no other problems at all. I do have shadows and vsync off but view distance maxed, so a 3ghz with that ram and a dedicated gpu should have no problem at all. Try the v-sync and shadow thing, if that dosnt work it must be a compatibility issue.

usin an AMD Phenom II 3.2ghz 6core, over clocked to 4.1ghz and a GTX 550Ti. Only issue I've had really is too much running at once. have to close sooooo much to play smoothly. But that's not the games fault. Its mine.

Hmmm, I checked some comparison and benchmark site, this is what I found:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.p ... rce+GT+530
Your card seems pretty crappy... sorry to say that.
Edit: Sorry, this benchmark seems to be for GT 530 not GTX 530. I have trouble finding anything about GTX 530...

Is it a typo? I can't seem to find the GTX 530 graphics card anywhere. The 3 implies (to me) that it would be a GT 530.

I can verify it is indeed a NVIDIA GeForce GT 530, perhaps not a GTX 530. Either way though, it's still ought to be able to work. I believe it's still much higher than the specs for this game. My desktop is better than my laptop here, and my laptop has a 2.3 ghz processor with 8 gigs of ram and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. Anyway, I haven't had the time to check whether turning down the shadows will allow me to run it on higher settings. Either way, it doesn't really matter that much anyway, given the current game's art assets.

Hm funny, I have no troubles at all running the game with pretty high settings in 1920x1080. My setup is not bad, but not state of the art either. 3.4 Ghz hexacore (which really doesn't matter because there's no multithreading -.-), 8 GB DDR-3 RAM and a Radeon HD 6870, so it seems pretty comparable to yours.

Is it me or do all guys who have problems run it on intel/nvidia systems? I mean okay, your system is complete overkill by any standards, but even I don't have problems without spending 2 grand on my system

I have an intel/geforce combo in my 3years old laptop and can play this just fine.
it's a geforce 9600m gt
plus a dual core from intel
(eventhough i've been more playing on my gaming rig lately)
so not
all guys with sth similar run into problems

could be the case (nvidia/intel)... but i would say its more of a problem due to outdated hardware.
i would be able to test it on a older system, amd triple core (dunno what it was) 4gb 1333 ddr2 and a hd 5750 but iam to lazy atm.
Today even a HDD can be a bottleneck but i dont think this game will use that many data.
My system has kind of other purposes then gaming, thats why its a bit over the top but i should have used an i7 instead of a fx.

yes you should have

Actually an i5 would cost half the price and would have you set for the next few years too. Especially one from the k series with a free multiplicator for some OC work. But that's a bit offtopic now...

Regardless, it's not a huge issue given the basic graphics the game has at the moment; I'm just hoping that further down the line that this will essentially become a non-issue.

Na, I have an NVidia GTX 560 Ti, and the game runs great on max settings. My machine is a beast though, all hardware was high spec (bought it almost 2 years ago). That's the power of a good custom build.

And BTW for an alpha, this game looks awesome!

AMD FX 8 cores at 3.6
16gigs RAM
Radeon 6900 fire starting overheat series
I run it at max but my video card does start to catch on fire eventually.

i7-3770k @3.5 GHz
16GB RAM
GTX-660
Windows 7
I run Kenshi smoothly at 1920x1080 fullscreen with 0 FSAA,
texture quality Highest, shadow quality Poor.
Setting FSAA to max cause a very noticeable fps drop depending on the camera,
yet didn't make the game look more appealing to me, no biggie.
Try using a gamestart where you have a squad of 1000 though,
you'll get a beautiful framerate I assure you. >:)
The fans in this PC are annoying, they adapt their speed whenever I do anything AND I HEAR IT.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz quad-core
16 GB DDR3 RAM
HD 5850
FSAA 8 and running smooth as butter.
