Noticed this game on Steam so I downloaded a demo and started messing around.
I've managed to recruit a man and make some 4000 money by looting bandits, but still I don't have much idea about this game. So here I would like to ask a few questions. If they are stupid, please bear with me!
- Can I make money in any way other than selling things? Like doing quests?
- How do I advance my combat skills? It seems that engaging in a combat does so, but can I get trained without taking risks?
- Do I need to eat or sleep? If yes, what do they affect?
- Can I fast travel to a town, or just tell the character to go there without watching him? Even with 4* it still takes a lot of time and I sometimes get lost.
- Can I befriend a faction? If yes, how?
- Haven't tried to build anything yet, but I guess I need building materials right?
- What are the pros and cons of buying a house in the city and building a house outside the city?
- Finally, the game sells here at $13, and $16 at Steam, what's the difference?
Newbie here, some questions
There are currently two ways to make money: Selling and bounty hunting. If you encounter bandit leaders marked with bounty values, you can bring them back alive by stopping their bleeding after they are downed and picking them up and taking them to a police station. Dead leaders reward only half the bounty.
Combat skills are advanced in combat, but you can use training dummies to get an initial boost of 5 points in attack skill with MKI dummies and 10 points with MKII dummies. MKI can be found in some town buildings and MKII must be upgraded from player-built dummies.
No essential sleeping or eating yet, however, using a bed will cause bandaged injuries to heal much faster.
You can tell a character to go to a town if you can click it from far away, but chances are he'll die alone. There is no fast travel.
The closest to befriending factions you can get right now is healing their downed faction members which will give you a large temporary diplomacy boost and a small permanent one. You can even do this with factions that are hostile from the start and eventually have friendly bandit factions.
Steam has some sort of fee or takes a cut, so it is slightly more expensive on Steam.

Thank you for your patience!
So where can I find bounties? And where are police stations?Blackbird wrote:There are currently two ways to make money: Selling and bounty hunting. I cannot move the camera far away from the character I select so I cannot see my destination town from afar. What is very confusing is the direction of the camera, and sometimes I go in wrong directions. You can tell a character to go to a town if you can click it from far away, but chances are he'll die alone. To my knowledge, there are currently 2 types of bounties. The band it boss and the sand ninja jounin. The bandit bosses will be one of the green bandits, but wearing armor and using a 'Ringed' sabre sword, the jounin will always appear by himself.
You can tell if they have a bounty by left clicking on them and going to the info tab in the HUD. Under their name and faction, it should list a bounty if they have one.
Police stations have some problems of not being properly marked or having no markings. Look for a building that's the same style as the round trading posts in some cities. They will have a sheriff and/or cages inside of them. I'm fairly certain the starting town has one.
And a helpful direction tip. On the map, the blue x represents the camera, not your characters. So with the map open, you can use WASD controls to move the camera and figure out what direction its facing.
