Game for a game - Personal thank to Chris

I want to personally thank Chris for mentioning in his interview about Project zomboid indie game, it is truly a promising game, and i recommend it for anyone from this forum because i would guess zomboid-kenshi tastes coincide in gameplay matter.

This recommendation was made also for the zomboid forum to check out Kenshi - i only see it fair to do so.

Project zomboid, yeah I've heard about that. That was the game that was 'cursed' with all these setbacks, right (the Google Checkout/didn't read EULA debacle, the stolen computer/no recent backups thing)? Or am I confusing it with another indie zombie game?

Anyway, I don't really think the gameplay is that similar. Of course, tastes differ, but zomboid struck me as more of a semi-story driven (wounded partner) survival-y game, where you kill a lot of zombies. Whereas Kenshi is not so much about killing, as finding your own path (to success) in a rebuilding society with little rules.

Of course, these impressions may be wrong, in which case you may feel free to correct me.

Ah no, i simply meant that i would guess people that enjoy Kenshi, might also like Project Zomboid. I would say that the main idea that binds them is the attempt to make them as realistic as possible (to somewhat extent) also, both of them having a save and quit feature (i think).

Maybe as subject not too much in common (one is a survival horror, other a free-roaming game) but it's just a hunch that indie-lovers might like it.

While I don't disagree that there are significant gameplay differences between the two games, I'd just like to point out that, ultimately, Project Zomboid will have two modes; the first is the semi-story one that has been showcased (wounded partner, and all that), and the other will be a sandbox mode which will be significantly less focused on story, and more on free-roaming survival, interaction with npcs, randomly generated city, etcetera.

That is, of course, assuming they finish, after all the stuff that's happened to the project. XP

Shameless advertising. If anyone knows about Kenshi then they know about Zomboid. Stop trying to push games in other forums, thanks.

Don't worry. Enough people have been pushing kenshi on other peoples forums.

I knew about Kenshi long before I knew about Zomboid.

You're not welcomed, here, with that attitude. Trying to prove something ? Try a tad harder.

Anyway if it comes to counting medals, i made a topic on Taleworlds, the only forum i was actively online back then, and made an intro topic about kenshi. When doing so i do not see any harm in letting other people know about such wonderful games.

Plus, Chris i didn't mean to make it sound like i am trying to give you a hug and a back-stab. This was a sincere and happy way of saying thank you for letting me know about project zomboid, and of course on top of that make some publicity for zomboid itself - again, as i did on zomboid about kenshi.

I have to agree with RustKnight here, though I did feel some kind of semi-hostile undertone in his post at the first line*. Knowing about Kenshi does not mean one knows about Zomboid or vice versa, I knew about Zomboid before I knew about Kenshi, but then again there are also people who heard about Kenshi before they heard about Zomboid. So assuming one knows about something because thy know about something else is a big no-no.

Also, on the "pushing games in other forums" aspect, I really don't see any harm in that. It's not like the average person can only select x games/forums to visit each day (unless your internet connection really sucks or if there's some kind of curfew), so if they are guided to forum y through forum z, that can only be positive for both, as they are more likely t promote forum z on forum y as well (even if it's only "I found this site through 'forum z'").

*Unless that was sarcasm, which doesn't carry well over the internets, in that case try to include a ' :P ' or some 'invisible text', none of which were present in your post at the time of this writing.

lol anyway I think Kenshi is a game that can withstand a little advertisment abt other games^^ (if not, that would be a bigger worry than this)
