just an idea I had.
Having ur own sons that grow and having ur old character die (if u want) when his time has come (like in fable if i remember correctly)

I would love to play as Taiga 16th head of the Kuzumi family ;) .
So u could remember ur own legends of previous generations :D and start the game anew with a fresh character (with or without the skills of his father) without actually renewing the whole world.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

That can be great, also i would like to see my main character as a npc, by importing him to a new game.

That would be awesome, You could theoretically fabricate the entire population....It would just take you a while.

:D
I didnt mean it like sims lol (nice picture btw, handmade for this post i hope :P ).
I meant more of an option to continue the game with a new character because u dont like the old one (because he's got both arms and legs cut off or because his reputation doesnt suit u anymore or...)
and the new chara being the son of the old one would be to keep it realistic somewhat :)

i think at some point chris the great wanted to add permadeath, so that would be a way to continue playing the same world while still losing permanently ur old chara who died stupidly.

I'd prefer an option like that (keeping ur world) than to start over again, i dont know how generic the world is but if its all handmade it could be anoying to start anew in the same world (with same factions/merchants and all)

ps: i put an allnighter here, so any and all strangness in this post is due to that...

Yeah I like the idea, the sims thing was more of a joke, and made especially for this occasion :D

Wasn't "A Valley Without Wind" supposed to have a mechanic like that? After you died you could continue as one of the other NPCs in your village, though I don't know if you could have children. I've got no idea if that mechanic actually made it to the final release, as I lost interest in the game when thy switched to a side-scrolling view.
They may take our bees, but they'll never take our piе!

Sounds like a great idea dude! And yes they have that, but its somewhat boring i think, theres no feeling of taking over your favorite farmer and go and explore with him
