Hello everyone, this is my first post, and since i don't wanna start with a complain, i'll start with saying how much i'm in love with this game, and how it captivates me for hours while i'm not even using all of its features too full potential (tried buildings and squads but eventually went back to play a lone ronin, love running in the sand, staring at the dunes while listening to the awesome soundtrack, bla, sorry, sidetracking.)

Anyways.

Last couple patches mentionned a fix to enemy spawns, and an increased bandit quantity, but it seems to me that it doesn't work as intended.
I can run the distance between Shark to Heft, taking my time, looking at my surroundings, and yet never come across a single bandit group. At best i'll find a critically wounded retreating bandit leader here and there.
On the other hand, Samurai, Dead Cats, Traders and Holy Nation groups seem fine, sometimes i can find for example 3 full groups of Samurai doing circles where i used to find many groups of starving bandits.
Also, Cannibals and Sand Ninjas seem to be doing fine too.

I was wondering if it's a known issue, if it's tied to some spawning or pathing bug, or if maybe all those powerful friendly patrols would too quickly destroy the entire bandit population (even at day 180 the lack of hostiles is obvious).
And eventually, if the issue is acknowledged, if a fix may come soon.

Thank you !

Did you import squad after the newest upddate? Some features/fixes need importing or starting new game before they start working proparly...

If the import doesn't fix it, you can also try Neko's Selective Larger Group Combat mod, which increases the amount of bandits in each squad, giving them greater chances of surviving encounters with other factions.

Yea i reimported my character to a new game - multiple times actually... in case it would eventually fix the issue.

I will grab that mod as a temporary fix, it should make my life as a lone ronin way harder, but it actually sounds interesting.
Will see if bandits lifespan seem to improve this way.

Thanks

I posted this in another thread, but many people, including me, seem to have a problem in which their npc view range is stuck at a low setting, and no matter what you do in the options, it stays at the same setting. Because of this, you can't find any bandits when they are actually there.

Yea i noticed this issue, at first i thought it just meant i couldn't see the patrols.

But even with that, every patrol i find is already dead, or only made of a few residual bandits crippled to death whose attitude is set to retreating and wont fight no matter what.

Along with this i believe something is broken with the way they spawn. Or they just get harvested by "friendly" patrols way too fast.

Anyway, the NPC sight range is another issue for sure.

- edit -
Oh and btw, thank you for the awesome mod, it somewhat improved the experience since even a single enemy patrol results in an intense fight now.
Also, i kinda self-hotfixed my issue for now by declaring war to the Holy Nation. They asked me "why", i said "waddaya know, hotfix", they didn't understand.

Exact same thing been happening to me. I think started maybe at .0.61.0. I posted something on steam but no answers to problem came up. I definitely have the problem where all the view ranges are set extremeeeely low and cant seem to change em. the .62 update didn't fix it either.

Iy's pretty much annoying to the point where I don't want to play, even though I love the game.
