Lo-Fi Games

I am not new to Kenshi. I bought into the game a long time ago. But I have never really put much time into it. That is not what I am here to talk about however. I have supported many games I would like to see make it. But do you know what makes Kenshi stick out for me? I see Steam updating Kenshi almost everyday it seems. If the developers love a game and update it often I gain huge respect for what they are trying to accomplish and want to help all the more. Too many games I have supported over the years fell to the wayside for me because the developers lost their love for their game as evidenced by their lack of updates. If they don't care why should I. Even if money is tight and the horror of laying off your team has you down to a one man attempt at a game keep in touch with me. Let me know what's going on I will try to help. Some games fail no matter how much love they get. I know...I understand. But I am very glad this one, Kenshi is getting attention because it has all the potential of a cult break-out game. The detail, the RPG elements and the time put in developing a character or party is super fun! I love good customization for characters and even though they seem ugly as sin to me I doubt two characters will be the same because of the amount of options and sliders for size and build lol.

Kenshi goes through phases of updates, larger updates take awhile, and then subsequent bug squashing updates are released in a frenzy before the next large update. Now that Chris isn't a one man band, I imagine that the large updates might occur more frequently, especially as Chris has said he wants to finish the game around the end of this year.

There are certainly a number of early access products that update very infrequently, with neither content nor bug fixes coming down with any regularity. I prefer to look at the Steam news on a product to see how often it updates before purchasing an Early Access title, although this doesn't always mean that the development isn't progressing apace if they haven't regularly updated. Some games, like Betrayer, simply release small snippets of their game for public perusal to get feedback and address bugs while working to release the game in full. Kenshi has always been a product of iterative development, and as such getting features into the hands of the players as soon as they're relatively stable is important to the project.

My favorite game was Star Wars Galaxies. But what I hated is the fact the Devs did not listen or carred what you thought. Here you can see Chris is involved he is part of his game he plays it. An though I am following only in his dream. He tells me his dream and lays it out he does not hide it and say like it or get out after I make you pay for it. Not only is this game awsome as in how much you can get involved in it. But what makes it cooler is how Chris has approached making this game. An if I had money I would support him with more then words alone. But I have seen enough to want to help were I can monthly from now until the game is done.

If SWG was your favorite game you might ought to consider checking out The Repopulation, if you haven't already.

The Repopulation very interesting they did not even have to mention how they are based off of SWG. Could clearly see it in the game set up. It will be an interesting game to say the least. But still I think I might be more hooked on this one.
