So I just started playing yesterday, and gotta say I love it.
but the whole reason I started playing was because I was promised I could loose limbs, something I have never seen a game do unless you had already died. Yes most die from limb loss but you can survive
I haven't got into much combat starting with a small group of people Ive been mostly safe n a hand made village but I still wish for one of my guys to loose his limbs
I read a FaQ saying it would be hard to implement prosthetic limbs and that would be why they would stay away from limb loss
If it hasn't been implemented yet for that reason still I have an idea, Magnetic Prosthetic. I remember reading a Manga called Berserk where the main character lost his arm, the Prosthetic arm given to him had magnets in the grip of the hand allowing for easy clamping onto a sword handle, and seeing as we don't use wood in this game most handles are metal.
Also is it possible for your character to permanently die.
Can I loose my arm
Regarding limb loss and replacement limbs in the future, this can be found on the About page:
If its the Left Arm, then you cannot carry bodies, but if its the Right Arm, then you cannot fight.
If a leg loses hp, there are several threshold values that denote how severe the leg is impacted, and each threshold will slow the character down a bit, where being at or below 0 is the slowest a character can be hindered by damage dealt to either leg, or both (they never lose functionality).
All of this is expected to be expanded in the future.
- Realistic medical system that affects gameplay. A character with a wounded leg will limp or crawl and slow the party down, wounded arms means you must use your sword one-handed or not at all. Lose an eye and it will affect your field of vision. Blood loss means you can pass out, and the blood will attract predators. Exhaustion affects performance and is increased by equipment weight, weather, blood loss and thirst. Severed limbs will need expensive robotic replacements.

Didn't even notice the pun, but I'm glad my muscle memory can still be punny.
I was more talking about the awesomeness of Martial Arts and Unarmed Combat with a whole squad of chars that all have mechanical limbs.
Do you think that should give them an advantage?

Santa's seal of approval. Please don't hate me for this.the idea of beating someone to death as a torso amuses me greatly

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

So I imagine if a race analogous to Wookies is ever implemented, they would receive some sort of bonus for intimidation once permanent limb loss becomes possible.
Finally resurrected my good desktop!
