Hi, I'm a newcomer to Kenshi and I'm thinking about buying it from Desura. I like to support indie games and their development and Kenshi is currently at the top of my list 8-) Before I purchase, I'd want to know how far the game is to a finished state, so I know what to expect gameplay and stability wise before buying.

One more thing, is there any official back story into the Kenshi setting and world? Or is that to be revealed later on?

I should mention I did play the demo, but was thinking maybe the purchased version is different.

Welcome futur buyer

right now the game is still far from finished, refer to the link for features
planned features

So you can expect a lot more content, better graphics and all

EDIT: right now you are limited in the demo to a maximum of 2characters (if you pay for the game, you can have a lot more followers),
you can't reach more then level/skill 20 i think or something similar

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Good.

Early alpha. There has been no mentionable content/feature update to the game since the first public alpha release, all the updates so far have been centered and focused on stability.
so I know what to expect gameplay and stability wise before buying.
The full version isn't different from the demo in itself. The only difference is that the limitations on the demo are removed, aka no limit on skills and attributes and no limit on squad size.

When I bought Kenshi I didn't think of it as buying a game, rather as an investment in a title that I am interested in seeing developed and released. Being able to watch the game develop is just an added bonus for me.

Hey!
I'm also fairly new to Kenshi. I've been tracking it on Moddb for awhile, and really like the concept for the game. Just need to scrounge up some dosh to pick it up off of desura.
And if Overgrowth has taught me anything, buying it in alpha will guarantee lots of fun

Yes, welcome everybody. Somewhere on this forum (somewhere) is an introduction post for newbies.

Indeed. Plus you have the ability to actually interact with the games creators. (i.e. if you yell at them they will respond). By supporting indie you enable new ideas to surface into the gaming world.
