When will the non-steam version be updated.

The most recent non-steam version released is 0.67.2.
I forget exactly when this was but I believe it was more than 6 months ago. While I understand that it is easier to release updates on steam and at this point most of the game's sales are on steam, I do not believe that it is right to ignore the non-steam version. A few updates being skipped isn't much of a problem but it is getting to the point where I am beginning to get disappointed and frustrated with the developers of the game.
I gave my money to them, purchasing a product that is only in alpha, because I believed they have a good vision for the game and want them to succeed. But part of the arrangement of me giving them that money was that I would be able to follow the development of the game and see how it develops. And in purchasing the game through a non-steam source it was also part of that arrangement that I would not have to use steam in order to be able to do so. That has not been occurring these past 6+ months or so.
Every few weeks I will check on the development blog and see what is being updated and changed. Whenever I saw that there was a patch I would look forward to it only to find out that the patch was only available to the steam version of the game.
I would appreciate it if there was some kind of estimate for when a non-steam user could expect to receive an update to this game. If that is not possible a clarification of the non-steam version patching policy for this game would be appreciated.

The new update is the experimental version, not stable. It's only in the Steam beta opt-in section. Once the update is stable, I assume it'll be put in the normal version and the non-Steam version will be updated. But really, there's no reason to not use Steam.

No, it is not just the new experimental build. I would not be posting if it were just 1 or 2 or even 3 patches that had been steam only. The non-steam version has not been updated since April, 2014. Version 0.67.2. The last 5 or so patches have been steam only.
I'm not looking to get into an argument about steam. That isn't the purpose of this thread but the off-hand comment that there is no reason to use steam kinda pushes my buttons a bit. There are plenty of reasons not to use steam but I will leave it at I think the "games as a service" business model that steam embodies is extremely anti-consumer and not something that I support.

If it does come out, I hope that it will be in the .69 version, because .70 version abandoned the integrated graphics cards due to demands to hardware. I can no longer use the laptop on .70 and onwards due to Intel graphics. While I have a desktop with AMD graphics, I use the laptop's specs as a primary playability marker, considering that I have one other Indie game I am supporting and currently remains playable in such specs.
Does that mean I represent the casual specs? I hope not. Not everyone has a wide choice of PCs, and I'm one of them.

Just because one indie game runs on an old intel integrated card doesn't mean it's reasonable to expect them all to... especially one running on java of all things(starsector?).
Even when it did run, i can't imagine it ran kenshi very well at all. Integrated intel is notorious for being... very slow.

I also believe the stable version should be updated too, it's been too long. I have been playing the experimental build on Steam for a while, so I didn't notice the "stable" version hasn't been updated yet. Everyone knows this game is in beta, and bugs/crashes will be there. So lets just update the stable to more recent version so other can enjoyed them too.

this is what lead to the current 0.70.x being released early and full of bugs and crashes.
the current experimental version is not stable enough yet. CTD's happen frequently and often still.
lets give them time to get it more stable before release.

(How did I miss this? Wait, don't ask.)
Graphics card speed is dependent from processor's clock speed rating, as far as I can recall. It's how much memory it can hold/process. The laptop runs .69 well and fast (left it running on 4x speed overnight with the whole 20-unit platoon doing their duties at base, and still playing with all tech researched unless I have them going from place to place.) but crashes at .70 due to graphics memory. Desktop (AMD graphics) runs at .70, but lags every step of the way.
Had it run at .5 population to stay on the safe side of things. I think it ran just fine at default 1...

Yeah come on guys hurry up and release a stable non steam version soon please. I don't want to play it on steam thanks. Every couple of weeks I check to see if a non steam update is out and I am a bit gutted when it is not. I have been watching steam users get experimental updates but us non steamers don't. Why don't you just release a buggy non steam version? To be honest all my old updates used to crash to desktop at regular intervals, but that never bothered me. I just thought that was part of it being beta. I most certainly won't be bothered if my new update crashes a bit, as long as I get a chance to try the new features.
Any chance please!
Thanks

I imagine when the Havok crash is solved they'll update it but that's proving to be a resilient issue.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe everyone who bought the game pre-Steam release was given a Steam key, where they not? I can tell you this is true of me for sure as I bought it long ago when it was basically brand new (and I didn't even HAVE a Steam account at that point). Because if everyone received the Steam key... why should they bother to update the non-Steam versions?
If I am mistaken, then I suppose you have a point.

To all the non-Steam users - I apologize for the long wait and thank you for being so patient with us!
Just as a heads up, Chris is going to aim to release the latest experimental version for non-Steam users next week. Although the Havok crash will likely still persist, we're hoping that it should at least be stable enough for a standard release now.
Hopefully there won't be anywhere near such long gaps between Experimental and standard updates in the future

That is great news. I can't wait to play now.
Thanks for listening and sorting it out. I didn't really want to play it on steam.
Many thanks again.

yes
there is a issue with some software ( its been discontinued ) that's required to update the non steam version to 64bit and the Devs are looking for replacement software.
There is no date as to when this will happen yet.
