So i bought this game a couple weeks ago. Version 0.61 came out, and i finally started making a town. I have all the research, a full party, loads and loads of products, places to sell them too.
My town is public, my Buildings with the shop counters are public, doors unlocked and open.
Traders walk behind my city, along the wall by the cliff and pass by, ignoring me. I have rum, bread, textiles and wheatflour for sale. my goods must be of poor quality because they dont even take a glance.
I have attached a picture of my whole town, and a picture of some traders and a couple adventurer guild members passing by, as well as my map open to show the location of my city.
I have tried removing the gates to my town, deleting the walls too, re-pathing, and the NavMesh reconstructing. I have tried reloading, verifying steam files, (which if you just open and close the game seem to fail to acquire at least 2 files most of the time) and even tried stocking the counters with every item in the game. I also built a building outside my walls where they pass by, set it to public along with my city, and filled its counter with bread and rum.(which i've read are confirmed trade goods)
Nothing seems to work. I'm wondering if the trade functionality is gone? i see them buying stuff at other towns. they just pass by mine. sometimes they actually stop for a few seconds, then continue onwards and just do nothing.
all my tests were off the same save, or a copy of that save. i never altered anything and then saved.
As for the cause there is only one thing i can think of. because all my save files are after this event i can't check but:
that is not the original position of my town. the first building i made was where the building outside my town is, I then built up a town, or a mine rather, and saved up building materials. then i built the walls, and filled in the new mining area and a farm. i then deleted all of the old buildings so that my whole town was inside the walls. opening up the map editor i see a a grayed out collosal spearman standing where i put my first building, a stone mine. is that the marker for the center of the town? if so its in a place npc's cant walk to(at least not easily). is that messing it up? I think Chris could find this post useful. I will provide the save game too, if he wants it.
unrelated: i have noticed a large amount of mercenaries, holy soldiers and samurai gathering in quantities in the center of towns as well, and they just stand there unless there is fighting nearby.
[0.61]Traders ignore and pass by me.(detailed with pics)

I also forgot to mention occasionally they walk up to that area behind my city. stop sit there for a while like they are thinking, then start moving again and walk off into the yonder lands. ignoring me again.
*EDIT*
ok some progress, now they stop behind my town. go aimless.. then the status "shopping" pops up. they walk away along the wall, if i made a hole in the wall before they went "shoppping" they go through the wall and make a bee-line for what seems like, one of my shops. then after a certain distance, and what appears to be in ANY direction, or a certain time, they stop. go "aimless" then go back to "wandering trader" then go back towards the same spot. and repeat in an infinite loop. (I'm not sure how they are programmed but maybe there needs to be an extension on distance traveled to the shop?)
needless to say they never buy anything because they are stuck.

trh Ai is kinda borked at the moment.
trading is basically not there, sometimes you get lucky and they do buy stuff, but as of 0.61.1 they don't do that much.
Have had soldiers standing around in town not doing anything.
used Ctrl + Shift + F11 navmesh rebuild. and most times they get back to doing what they do. patrol the area.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable
