So today i decided i wanted to import my squad over to a fresh world (mainly to get rid of my base) so i clicked import research to take that along with me and hit import. the game started to think and think and then crashed... sort of, its permanently stuck in crash mode. I can't get it to close either. Ending its process does nothing, mem is stuck at 521,756 and not changing. there is no crash dump yet... so i have no option left other than to restart my computer... and i hate doing that
anyways I'm gonna leave it running for a bit (its been like this for an hour already) in case a mod sees this soon and requests specific info from this situation.

You can End Process in the Task Manager (assuming you are using a Windows OS).
I am assuming you know how to do this since you were able to identify the memory usage at the time of the crash.
If you continue to get this issue, could you upload a .zip of your save folder so myself, and others, can try to reproduce your issue.
Just so I can be a little more helpful for you right now, you could try deleting your /Kenshi/data/ folder and Re-validate Game Files using Steam.
Let us know what happens!

yeah end process was actually doing nothing to help close it... it was weird I've never seen anything not respond to task manager unless the system was not responsive, but here everything else worked fine, i could even start a second instance of kenshi... but figured i'd try to figure it out. even tried to dump the process into a file so i can upload it here(manual crash dump essentially). that didn't work either and i had to do a manual restart after a while. after the restart the import worked fine, but whatever caused it locked it up good.
Interesting.
If you get that again, would a screenshot provide any additional info?
Also, I believe a perfmon report of that situation would be extremely helpful, but I wouldn't ask anyone that isn't already knowledgeable of perfmon to try that, except as a last resort. :p

screenshot not really, its just a greyed out kenshi screen. what i did do was save into a folder all the files that were written at the time of the crash. but they don't seem useful to me as the process didnt get to the crash dump or error log.
i have crashhunter.log
currentversion.txt
mygui.log
ogre.cfg
ogre.log
all modified at the time of crash so i made a copy and put them into a seperate folder in case they could be useful.
gui.log and ogre log seem to be the ones with the most info, but i have no idea how useful it could be.
