I'm having a rather unusual error. I'm running Kenshi 1.0.55 in Steam on Manjaro Linux. Default settings for Proton. Kenshi is windowed, with the window maximized and the title bar and taskbar still visible.

If I...
1. launch Kenshi via a shortcut without launching Steam first, then
2. try to load a save or start a new game
...then Kenshi will crash, with the "Kenshi has crashed, a crash report has been generated, please visit lofigames.com" error message.

Doesn't matter which save I load, or whether Steam is native or runtime. The only thing that matters is if Steam is running first. And once the crash happens, it will keep happening, until I exit Steam and restart it.

But if I...
1. launch Steam, then
2. launch Kenshi
...then everything works as intended. No crashes at all.

I'm not exactly sure when or how this started. It may have been around the Distant Towns update, or a Steam update around the same time. Attached are the first crash report I saved and my most recent one.

Kenshi doesnt support Linux
Kenshi is only meant to run on native windows systems only.
sorry, but there most likely will not be a fix to this since your OS is not supported.

Yah, I was afraid of that. Still, thanks for the response!

And I do have a workaround -- just open Steam first -- so not a big deal if it's not fixed.
