Insane Lag Happened Overnight

I played in the afternoon on Saturday, August 19 and everything was working (mostly) fine.

Then, I tried to play again Sunday night and there was sudden lag that rendered the game unplayable. All of my graphic settings are on the lowest possible setting. I set resolution to the lowest setting. I removed all mods. None of this has worked.

I am currently re-installing to see if that fixes it, but since everything that I have done so far has been met with failure, I do not have high hopes.

Is this a known problem, or am I the anomaly? If so, how can I get it repaired so that I can play again?

Re-installed. Updated drivers. Changed application priority. Adjusted the graphical settings six ways til Sunday.

The lag is still there -- nothing that I do seems to help.

Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? Is anyone else experiencing this kind of issue? Would love to get some suggestions of what to try.

Are you running experimental or stable?

Tried both. I started on experimental, which is what I thought caused the lag. So, I rolled back to stable and imported. Still there.

does it still happen in a new game? It's likely something in your savegame, zip it up and send it to me

Can you zip up your savegame file, the one with the lag, and attach it to your post here?

So, I started a new game (vanilla), and the lag was gone. I played for about 10 hours before adding any mods (to try and replicate the issue on the other game).

I was able to add several mods before I got any lag. So, I loaded my old game (the one with the lag), and it was working fine.

Any thoughts on why this would have been? I had a few mods, but certainly not THAT many.

depends on what the mods did and how they changed the game.

Well, current state is stable. I'm only getting around 10-15 FPS on average, but that it running a fairly large squad with several large mods (Omega Supreme, New Recruits, Shops Have More Money, Recruit Prisoners, Storage).

If it stays at this range, it is playable; so, for now, everything seems to be running properly.

Thanks for all of your input.
