I'm playing the latest stable version, but I just had another crash very similar to those I reported here when playing the previous stable version: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14144
Last time, I reported that they only seemed to happen in the Great Desert in the general area around Sho-Battai. At least, I ran all the way south to the Waystation, then back again without a crash. And when I left the desert, I ran from Sho-Battai west, through the desert and then out of it, with no problem.
Eventually, I wondered if it was because of those two mods (?) that come with the game (Sho-Battai Walls and Newland... something). I didn't really know if those were suppose to be installed or not, but I went ahead and removed them (and had no problems after I imported into a new game). However, I didn't go back to the Great Desert, so I hadn't tested that.
Every since then, I've had no problem, not with that version of the game and not with the new one, 0.99.15, which I've been playing a lot. However, for the first time since then, I returned to the Great Desert and the game crashed just as I was heading to Sho-Battai. (I was about halfway from Stoat this time, probably close to the Stone Camp. So I wasn't that close to Sho-Battai, I guess, just in the same general area.)
First, the game freezes. Then I hear a tone. Then, after a short delay (sometimes I hit escape or something), Kenshi just closes.
Note that I do not have those two 'mods' installed. (I read somewhere that those were left in the game by accident and aren't supposed to be used?) So that's not it. And this is a different version of the game, of course. So I just don't know.
All of this could be a big coincidence, of course. But it seems odd. Anyway, I'm attaching the Crashdump.log.
PS. I'm having no other problems with the newest version of the game. I have not had the saves stop working (as reported here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14099). That didn't happen all the time, anyway, but I really have been playing the game a lot with this new version. Everything has worked perfectly... until I got in this particular part of the desert again.
[0.99.15] More crashes in the Great Desert?

OK, here's a follow-up, along with one or two other bugs:
I got back in the game and ran to Sho-Battai again (not exactly as I'd done before, because I stopped to fight some skimmers). No problem in or around the city (though I didn't play too long, so that's not a big surprise, I guess).
However, I noticed that Kenshi hasn't been autosaving for me since I installed the new version. (And yes, I checked to make sure that it was still selected in the options.)
So I had Steam check the integrity of my local files, and this time, it found three files that needed to be reacquired. Normally, it always finds two, no matter what. (I don't know why.) So this was a little different. And I realized that I should have done this after importing into the new version of the game, even though that has never helped me with this problem in the past. My mistake.
Anyway, autosaves still don't work for me, even after this. I deselected them in the options, played briefly, then selected them again. Still no autosaves.
As far as crashes go, I've been running around the desert, more or less in the vicinity of Sho-Battai, and I haven't had another crash today. But again, I haven't played that long. So I'll just report back when - if - I get another one. (I wasn't planning to spend too much time here, but I really want to see if this will happen again.)
One more thing: This is very minor, but I noticed something weird when I'm fighting slavers and manhunters in the desert. I'm running just a single character right now, and when he fights a group of them and knocks one of them down, they all - or nearly all - stop fighting and immediately start trying to revive their faction member - right in the middle of combat!
It makes it very easy to fight them, even in large groups. I don't know if they're supposed to do this or if it's a bug, but I've never noticed it with any other groups of enemies. (Then again, starving bandits, dust bandits, blood bandits, etc. might not have any first aid kits, anyway. I'm not sure about that.)

Just a quick note: I played another four hours or so, running around the Great Desert (mostly near Sho-Battai). No crashes. So maybe this was just a matter of that local file that Steam fixed? Well, this time, at least. That wasn't the problem earlier, but maybe that was just an old file from the previous version?
And another thing (this is very weird): I had one autosave in this 4 hours or more of gameplay. Note that the game is set to autosave every 15 minutes!
After about three hours, I saw the autosave and I thought maybe it had started working again, for no apparent reason. But no. It just autosaved once, and not again after that. Weird, huh?

OK, I played for about a half-hour this morning and had another crash.
Note that there was a small update this morning, so I'm playing on the 0.99.16 version.
But the same thing happened. I'm in the Great Desert, not too far from Sho-Battai (actually, a bit west or southwest from the... Stone Camp?, so I'm not all that close, I suppose). I was fighting a skimmer at the time, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.
The screen froze, then I heard a single tone. Nothing happened after that until I hit Escape, at which point the screen disappeared.
I'm attaching the CrashDump report.
PS. Oh, yeah, the autosaves still aren't working. (I have no idea why I got one autosave yesterday and not another one before or since then.)

This time, the game crashed after about an hour of play. Everything was the same, except that I was no longer in the Great Desert, let alone near Sho-Battai. So I guess I was wrong about that.
I loaded up the previous save, which was immediately before the game crashed last time. I fought the same skimmer I was fighting when it crashed previously, then I ran back to Sho-Battai. No problems.
However, I decided to leave the desert, and I ran northwest and checked out the tower of goats. I was nearing Bastion (from the east) when the game crashed, just as it's been doing all along (only this is the first time it's crashed when I wasn't in the Great Desert or even in the vicinity - more or less - of Sho-Battai).
Again, I'm attaching the CrashDump report. But I don't know how long you want me to do this. Is it helping at all?
PS. And, again, the game is still not autosaving. I'm not sure what's going on with that, either.

Just FYI, I played again for a little while (still near Bastion), and I got that save problem I reported previously here (in the previous stable version of the game): viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14099
I did a quicksave, and the game told me that the save failed. So I tried again, and the game told me that it was "saving," but it never reported success or failure.
When I tried to exit the game, it told me that it was "exiting," but it never did. Luckily, I didn't have to reboot my entire computer (this time). I was able to get into task manager and end the game there.
As you know from my previous report, this is a problem I've been having since version 0.98.62. However, it's been a week since the last one. I have no idea if my two issues are related or not, but typically, neither one happens very often.
Tonight, I've been having more problems than usual (including autosaves no longer working), so I'm going to try importing again to see if that helps.

Yeah, this crash happened again, after about a half-hour of play this morning. And I wasn't anywhere near the Great Desert. (I was inside the rebel bar just north of the Hub, selling stuff.) So maybe all those earlier crashes were just coincidence?
I don't know. Anyway, I'm attaching the CrashDump report.
(And yes, FYI, the autosaves still aren't working. No big deal. Just thought I'd mention it.)

FYI, these crashes are still happening - though not very often - with 0.99.23. However, note that the autosaves are working again. Thanks!
This crash just happened. My party was inside Blister Hill (so, again, nowhere near the Great Desert). I'd been playing for awhile.
