No voices

I've been playing for three days now an I haven't heard any voices, there is apparently a lot of cursing and screaming in this truely epic masterpiece and I really can't proceed unless I have the full sensory experience. I've seen a lot of sound errors posted but none specific to the voices. FX can be heard as well as the music but not a peep from the people or creatures. I've run through all the solutions stickied here and elsewhere for sound issues. I need my Kenshi fix please I'll do anything I'M SO OBSESSED WITH THIS GAME HELP!!!

Characters don't make noise beyond the occasional grunt and such when hit. All speaking is done through text.
