This time a friend of mine went and got the bug, he sent me the save and i took a look at it, it indeed is the ghost cities bug. Really sorry this bug is rearing its ugly head yet again chris, it seems like it's quite the beast.

He was playing on a computer thats never had kenshi installed before, installed right from the .31.1 installer exe.

Following is a link to the save he sent me:

i had this issue when my game crashed during a quicksave. Perhaps something similar happened for you guys?

As a work around for now, you can import your characters to a new game.

Alternatively, you might be able to copy the NPC location files from another save game into this one [no idea if this is possible - it's just a thought]

It seems to happen for me when I go from one city to another (mostly to Trader's Edge from Brink). Sometimes I get lucky, but it does make it really hard to get a good trading route when you have to keep importing your squad.

i dont recall if this has been reported or not, but if you have your game on fast speed instead of normal speed when you save it crashes.

I tried quicksaving (f5) during 4x speed, and it didn't give me any issues. Tested twice. Is this crash repeatable? Does the crash happen if you do it on a new game? (NB: back up your save folder first). If no, it might be related to your particular set up - the way the buildings are placed.. or something.

Either way, you should include the dump file.

i got the same problem after my games crashed while quicksaving too it really seems to be caused by pressing F5 while using the time acceleration on some PCs

I need a crash dump for this crash-while-saving. Then I can find the cause.

apparently this seems to happen when you crash while saving with people spread out accross the map (in different areas)
