I get this "Kenshi_STEAM.exe" has stopped working, i've reinstalled twice now and it still comes up, my specs are all good for the game to run and it's not in a program file. Anyone else get this?

Maybe try running it outside of steam?
Also you could try downloading the installer from here and install it yourself, see if that helps. Your key will still work.

I haven't actually got a key, it just says "requesting key" would that be the problem?

Have you tried restarting steam?

Updating Steam will fix that key problem

Something I've always tried when the game doesn't want to launch is go to your game LIBRARY, Right Click on the game you're having a issue with (Kenshi), then go to PROPERTIES, then go to the tab labeled LOCAL FILES, then go ahead and click that VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE button. Usually works for me and if any files are missing from the download it will replace them without having to go through the hassle of uninstalling and re-installing. Also you could also make sure your Steam client is up-to-date by going to the HELP button up at the top of the client and clicking the ABOUT button and checking that online with the latest release.
Just some advice! ;)
