I cannot dismantle this research bench, and my characters will not enter the building any further than right where he stands, thus preventing me from dismantling the building at all.

GG 30 resources.

One thing I will have to say that really badly needs to be fixed is object shapes. I simply AM NOT able to put this research bench in anywhere, and if I do manage to fit it, I'm literally prevented from putting ANYTHING else in there at all for fear that I will break the pathing. I thought I had it down this time, apparently not.

Anyway, yes I know it's alpha blah blah blah. I have experience with them, that doesn't mean I can't vent my frustrations. Great game otherwise, lots of fun and the new character models are cool. I think you should have spent more time on functionality before the character models, though, but that's just me. Some people are really anal about graphics which is fine. Good luck with the project, having a lot of fun playing it.

As a side question, what does a character advancing in labour actually do for him? Make him do it faster? What about smithing? It goes pretty slow right now for very little profit, I could make more getting my men to mine iron and it's easier to fit in shopkeeper's inventories, so if there's any skill that relates to smithing that speeds it up, I'd love to know.

if you're having trouble placing the research bench in the small house, you can just buy one of the larger houses in town by clicking on the building door, and then the little buy button in the bottom left of your screen.

So THAT'S how that works. Thank you kindly.

Still, this is quite a shame because I can't get rid of it now. Oh well. It'd be pretty cool if there was a way to just delete buildings and everything inside them without needing a guy to deconstruct for you- after all, you don't regain any of the materials, so what's the point?

Thanks again.

Indeed, smithing and labor skills increase production speed. As far as I know, the speed of production is currently the ONLY effect these skills have, though that may well change as the labor system and tech trees become more fleshed out.

I'm in agreement, it is a tad bit annoying when a building can be placed indoors such that it blocks the door, but it is impossible to remove said building from outside.

I've encountered this before and had to import into a new game (losing my vast 26 building kingdom Q.Q)

As stated above, larger houses are better houses.
